Or, Monster Rancher 2 for the Ameeeeericans, and Monster Farm 2 for our Japanese friends.

I love this game to death!

My version, however, has died :( Still looking for another one out at Garage Sales and Markets, though!

I got a first generation Mew(Nya) into the Hall of Fame and beat both Master monsters :D Wheeee!

And also a Fifth Generation Jilt, buuuuuuuut she isn't really that impressive, fifth Gen and all.

Was on my way to getting her child, a Wracky (Yes, I bred a wracky out of her, don't hate, I had a Mocchi with a stat grid line up to fit a wracky offspring with 4 stats.) To the second Major 4 win when my CD died :(. Hey, after all that trouble beating Carmine D:.

That sucks! I'm glad that my copy of Monster Rancher 2 still works.

I have only beaten one of the major four with a third generation Hopper/Suezo mix (it's on its last leg atm ): ).

How did you get a first generation Mew into the Hall of Fame?

I LOVED this game soooo much way back when! I made the mistake of lending it to cousins who broke it -_-

I trained mostly Pixie type monsters. Had a lot of fun with that game. I'd love to have another copy again sometime. I really miss it.

I trained my Mew in Light/light/light/light with x/nuts oil/mintleaf/nuts oil in its baby years, Heavy/heavy/heavy/rest with mint/nuts/mint/nuts in its adult years and back to the baby years for it's elder years. Ran at 999 spd, 850 lif, 999 ski and like, 150str, int and 70 d. I used withering based techniques to drain monsters of their guts. Particularly the Joker, Carmine, in the Major 4, as it is a Ski attack and Ski stat based monster. As long as I kept it below 10 guts I was safe. Mew has a decent guts regen rate as a purebreed.

Basically, Spd + Ski + Withering Techniques + Huge health pool (To help with weaker ski based monsters like Rouge in the Major 4, where battles often ended 80% to 85%, since her guts regen is incredible, with the sub of a Pixie).

I worked so hard to get my Pixies to Good so I could get Gigaray. Soooo worth it. Don't get me wrong, Gigaflame is nice but the sharpness in Gigaray made it so much more viable for later fighting, when you could no longer 1 hit wonder with Gigaflame. (I used to hit 600 at a time with Gigaflame too xD).

If you're wondering, Gigaflame is an evil tech and Gigaray is a good tech, so you can't have both :o Like Petal Vortex and the Petal healing thingy on a Mocchi.

Ah I see that makes sense now ^_^ I always skrew up on that training regimen, I have a hard time trying to figure out what age they are in life. You know when I first played the game I had an Earthshaker (Naga/worm) and only worked on its strength. Could kill you in one shot if it could hit you, even had the coolest name for it: Shaft. Sad he died, I miss him especially since I can't find the cd I got him from ):

I had a hard time training my Nagas, the guts regen was soooooooo slow. So, I bred one with a Pixie xD Didn't work out too well >_> so I used him to farm money from the B-A class tournies.

Ya they do suck at that, which never really occurred to me back then. Probably the reason why I never made it past C rank lol.

Actually with my second time around I'm more focused on getting as many different kinds of monsters as I can. Also to re-enact the battle between Moo and the Phoenix, that is going to be so awesome! Did anyone else watch the anime?

Best show ever! I used to buy all the little toy figures they had, you know the ones? They came in yellow discs and had cards with them? I still have some of those XD How come they got rid of dinos after Monster Rancher (the first game in the US)?

I unno. Monster Rancher the first for me is the second game for you. >_> Plus, we never got the merchandise down here >___________________<

:o Oh that sucks! Its really hard to find the first Monster Rancher (loved that you can have Magic Johnson as a monster xD) and any of the merchandise. Have you played the card game? It was on the gameboy or ps1 not really sure.

Only one I've ever played is my first (your second), I fell in love with it so much that I was a bit scared to buy follow ups haha :)

I see, the follow ups are not as good. However in the 4th one (my 4th) you get to actually see who you are playing! You can even run around with them during the adventure trips. I really want to try again with Monster Rancher 1, see if I can get back my black dino (in that game they looked more like babies when they are first born in my opinion) lol. Also found Shaft on one of my old memory cards!! Too bad I can't breed him with any of my other memory cards ):

I used to have a pile of CD's with rare and fun monsters on it, and then my Monster Rancher CD stopped working and I moved house, so I put all the CD's away >_< Going to be a fun time seeing which is which again :P

I've always wanted to see who I actually am in game! But I thought about it... That'd kind of ruin the whole atmosphere in a way, so would selection screens different than the static. Ah well.

Ya thats true. Also loved getting tons of different cds and dvds (for the follow up games) and spending all night going through them. Was a pain in the butt getting the same ones but some surprised me! Like the Sueki Suezo: highest skills for a monster out of the disc and lasts only a week! But if you got two then combined them you get a suezo with slightly better stats and an extra skill (that was how I got my first monster this playthrough). Also loved the Errantry guy, such a jerk in the beginning but so nice after a while.

I never got a special monster :<

I did however find a CD with a Worm that had 2 extra abilities already on it, plus 30 extra lif over a fresh-born Worm. That was pretty cool :D

Guest Luna_Luv2942

Yes I got that one too! It was the Offspring's Americana if I'm not mistaken.

And the Sueki Suezo is made from the Monster Rancher 1 disc so thats why you haven't gotten it.

Remember; our disc lists are different, what your discs create is different than mine ^_^ For example, in American Monster Rancher 2, Ant Farm creates a Monol, in Australian Monster Rancher 1, Ant Farm creates a Gengar/Gali cross.

Congrats on T <3   The height problem I think is an issue for a lot of trans guys, unfortunately. I know more tall cis women than short cis men, so it especially stands out to me whenever I'm in a room. I'm hoping for your voice to drop soon, good luck! (I've heard it feels a little bit like a cold? If that's true, hope it'll feel better quickly and that it's worth it!)

Hi Raine, my obstacles are that I'm 5"2 and always will be at the age of 34. I have size 5 feet, so it's difficult to find shoes, not alot of options, have to go to the teen boy bit. My voice was an issue, but T is starting to help me stay in the lower range of my fem voice, and I'm hoping it will drop soon.

I just like how our posts complimented each other.  Your point about publicity of pride events and that culture seemed to be spot on.  My culture and mindset is so different that I'm barely aware that things like that are going on.  I don't watch news and I'm very much into professional life and life-long learning.  There are all kinds of cultures out there.  Thanks for sharing your insights.

Here, the public image of LGBTQ+ is formed from the limited contact of the Pride Parade, which seems to always attract a few people who are into flamboyant sensationalism and inappropriate conduct, so there are arrests for lewd conduct, indecent exposure and public disorder.  Those are the people the news media always covers at the parade, as if everyone LGBTQ+ was like that.  The whole parade thing backfires, in my opinion.    Sometimes these types show up at protests as well, and of course, that is what the news media picks up on.    Some people need to be taken quietly aside and told they are not helping.   I don't know if that is the biggest block, but it is there.  Lousy marketing,

One of my roommates bought cheese and pasta and asked if I would make mac & cheese.  I walked to the store and bought 4 cups of milk and then used the preppykitchen.com baked mac and cheese recipe that works so well.  Melting a stick of butter and whisking in 1/2 cup of flour and then adding the milk.  Breadcrumbs on top.  It's amazing out of the oven, but just edible when it is cold in the fridge.  It's all gone this morning and that made me happy.

We made a mega batch of curried sausages today, with enough leftovers to go to others, and into our freezer for us.    Dished up with mashed potato and peas.

I know my transwoman appearance can be a negative trigger for men.  I mean, it even negatively triggers what is left of my male thought patterns.  I'm wearing a tight fitting, full length, black dress the last few days.  If I could get rid of my male "junk" today, that would be wonderful.   I'm not going wear clothing that I do not enjoy and I'm not going to avoid wearing things like this dress just to avoid triggering some people.  During my coming out phase, I was very conscious about going out in public.  Now, several years later, it doesn't even cross my mind at all.  I am free to express myself the way I want to.  I do get some negative reactions from people in the public places I go.  I think it is good for them to realize that when you are in public, you are not in control of who you bump into or what you see.   I'm a homebody.  Before coming out, I enjoyed dressing up at home.  Even when I was presenting as a male, I enjoyed dressing up at home, in a masculine way, even if I wasn't going to go anywhere.  I just like looking good and feeling my best.  And it isn't about showing that to other people.   So the "acceptance" part of this, is that I just want to be accepted as I am out there in public.  I just want to make my transactions out there and for people to be civil about it.  I'm actually for segregation on the level of if people want to form some club or tavern with a certain culture where they don't have to see and be triggered by me in my dress, and I can go to some club with people who are doing a trans thing, listening to down-tempo acid jazz and drinking ginger tea.  But then there are the super public places like the grocery stores that everyone goes to and you know, we need greater acceptance there.   The work/employment thing is a huge deal too.  I think trans people should not use it as an excuse to get out of work or create waves at work and that employers and employees realize that there needs to be professionalism at work.  At work, we're trying to get products to people.  It all boils down to that.  We all use these products and most of us go to work to keep that thing going.  Work isn't some social club.   Back to the lump in my dress...  I kind of step into a woman's world by doing this in that they have breasts sticking out that they have no control over.

My son has an industrial type stove on their farm.  I think he got it used online, he gets stuff online a lot.  Burns propane.  It is pretty nice.  I did use it when I was farm sitting for them.  But definitely overkill for someone like me living with a house-mate daughter.  We do our own cooking for the most part.  We also keep very different hours.

I saw Lane 8 last Saturday night at a wonderful outdoor concert/dance venue. When he played this song I almost cried. The words are such a powerful statement of friendship - to my ears anyway.

Welcome Felix!  It sounds like we have a lot in common with music on multiple instruments and food.  I'm not into lifting weights though.  That could be a good skill in the Marines.  I'm a Navy veteran.  They just stick us in a little metal room and sleep deprive us.   In all seriousness, I felt that it was good to travel the world when I was young and working.     Loved this "...but what can you do."  It sounds like you have a firm grip on reality!

It undoubtedly depends on what country you are in.  And even then, there would be discrepancies between policy and culture: what is allowed may not be accepted, depending on the personalities of the people involved.    For the Canadian Armed Forces, I found this in regards to acceptance into Basic Training:   "Transgender candidates may make request in accordance with CF Military Personnel Instruction 01/19 Transgender Guidance. The accommodations granted should aim at facilitating the integration and the success of the person making the request while complying with the Minimum Operational Standards as illustrated in the DAOD 5023-1. The final decision regarding accommodation measures rests with the Commandant of CFLRS."  https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/dnd-mdn/documents/military-benefits/QMB_QMBO_e.pdf   Presumably, this refers to things like bathroom and shower access.  It indicates that the official policy is to accept transgender candidates.  Whether or not the specific drill sergeant and the other recruits would actually accept them is something one could only find out by experience.
