Hello Lovely Ladies,

I hope you are enjoying your summer.

I am seeking your kind advice about SRS best technique. I have read a lot online and seems like every Dr. is trying to advertise his/her technique and I am pretty confused. The thing that makes me even more confused is that if a girl gets either the penile inversion or the scrotal skin graft she will say that it is the best...etc! but here is the things, this girl does not know how the other techinues feels and looks? and both techniques' feeling and function cannot be compared to the natal one because we do not know how it feels.

Whenever I think of where to get my SRS and which Dr. and Technique I better choose I feel like having a panic attack, it is a lifetime decision.

Some swear by Thailand, some Canada and some by our local Dr.s in the US.

I look forward to get your advice, tips and thought.

Many thanks in advance and enjoy your femininity,

Elissa

Hi Elissa,

My advice; look up all the techniques you're looking at. Not the reviews, but the actual techniques. What they do, what are common complications, how does this differ from x technique. Make a list of pros and cons as you see them, and what you would like out of your new equipment

As far as doctors go, same thing. Also consider distance and whether if you do have complications, if you have the resources and time to get back to the doctors overseas.

All of the techniques have about equally good and negative points, and some may vary between clients. Maria gave you the best advice, which is to read carefully on a large number of web sites, both about the techniques and then the doctors themselves. On HRT for a long time, one may be better, overweight and have a severe problem that way, another is better. Orchiectomy, or a bad case of the mumps even other challenges. Don't leave out the complications of Filariasis (unlikely for you to have that here in the US, but it would change the picture for sure).

Next step since you are here in the US would be to go to one of the TG conventions (there is one in Chicago in May/June, another in Atlanta GA in September others in Colorado, Washington state, where the doctors themselves come and talk about the methods, sometimes on a single panel discussion or in separate sessions, and you can meet them, and describe your own needs, and get answers. That was how I made my decision, and SRS reservation, but I know I am unique, and who I like and what they do may disgust you.

Caution, some of the web-sites and U-Tube sites DO show an operation in progress!! A younger friend of mine was watching one, and (her) mom found a slumped over video viewer who had fainted from seeing the operation being done. She is going to take her mother's advice and wait a few years.

There are very few that have had both procedures and those who have had both, penile first followed by colon section had surgery because of problems with the first and that was kinda the only option.

Part of the readiness for SRS is knowing the difference between the different techniques and surgeons performing them. So best start understanding what the differences and tradeoffs are.
