I believe a balanced diet, exercise, and plenty of fluids are necessary for good health and well being. This should work for transwomen and transmen equally. Of course there is a word of caution regarding the ingestion of copious amounts of chocolate if you wish to avoid severe acne as a transman on T

AND...

I haven't seen a valid double blind study which shows that dill pickle ice cream is of measurable benefit to the development of transwomen.

In a nutshell, eat healthy and workout. You'll get there. :)

There are a number of free sites online where you can track your foods by nutrient and be sure how much potassium you are getting,.

Turns out T is also potassium sparing though less so than spiro and I got into trouble using lite salt. it is pure potassium. Drinks like Gatorade also have a lot and as do many vitamins. It pays to read the ingredients in whatever you consume.

Hi Joanna,

My doctor handed me a list of high-potassium foods, to which I replied, "Everything I eat is on this list." He said that most people with healthy systems don't have problems with potassium. Just for my own peace of mind, I switched from daily bananas to apples. But, everything else is still the same. My blood tests have shown no elevation of potassium after starting spiro.

He told me that If I start to get muscle aches, then it's perhaps potassium retention. And, I never get muscle aches - don't have any left!

Love, Megan
