Hi all,

I'm new here and it was actually my wife that came across this website after some long conversations we recently had.

I've had some confusion over my gender for a long time now, before I met my wife I had been referred o a psychiatrist, he confirmed I had gender dysphoria and basically said that how far I went between being male and female was own to me and I left with an idea of experimenting and finding more out about my feminine side.

It didn't go much further than that as I not long after met my now wife, she knew about my gender confusion from the start, due to someone I thought I could trust trying to cause trouble by telling her about my gender, after which I tried to act more manly and forget about my female thoughts and feelings, this was mainly down to the affect of people breaking my trust and causing me to judge myself, despite all his my wife and I have never had any issues regarding my gender and she is accepting of it all, even paints my nails lol.

However something at my wife and I have noticed over the years is that I allways seem happy when I'm more in touch with my feminine side, by paintings nails, wearing womens pyjamas etc, when I'm in man mode as we call it, I seem more unhappy.

The thing is I don't want to completely change into a woman, I want to keep my penis, but I old prefer it if I had a more female shaped body, softer skin and less body hair, would hormones do this?, can you get put on hormones in the uk without wanting to completely change to female?.

I guess what I would be happy with is being able to swap between looking male or female depending on how I feel or if I'm at home or out, is anyone else like his?, what am I classed as? Transgendered?.

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks

Hello Riain :) Welcome to Laura's :)

Every one is differnt . There is no wrong or right . Your psychiatrist can help you decide what is right for you. If hormones is the go then you will have to see an endo . They will do blood tests and then decide what is right for you. The pace you go at is your choice . My partner is on a low dose at the moment and her skin and body has changed . Some choose not to go on hormones and instead do other things eg grow hair , do eye brows , use moisturisers to soften skin . The list goes on . What ever you choose you have to feel comfortable with . Have a look around the differnt forums , there is Lot of great information. You can add a comment to any post or start a post of your own . We ask all or members to please read the terms and conditions . You can find these on the bottom right of any page . These rules are in place so you and all our members have a warm and safe place to come and share . There is also an introduction forum . If you like ou can introduce yourself there. This Llows other members to see you are new and welcome you also .

Looking forward to getting to know you

Hi!

I haven't started hormones yet, so I can't say for sure that everything I say is true, but I have researched a lot, so hopefully I can help you. :3

Transgender is an umbrella term for everything from cross dressers to transsexuals, so I would say that you're definitely transgendered.

Hormones will change your fat distribution, but only to any fat you get after HRT has started, so if you have any unwanted weight, you'll probably have to work that off to achieve a more feminine shape. Unfortunately, hormones don't really affect bodily hair, although they can reduce the hair on the chest. And you'll almost definitely get softer skin on hormones.

And you said that you're always happier when expressing your femininity, so you may just be a transsexual that just doesn't want SRS, which is quite common.

I'm not sure if you can get put on hormones if you don't want to be completely female, but I don't see why you shouldn't. And I've just found a story about somebody called Dawn on the NHS site, which can be found here: http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Transhealth/Pages/Transrealstorydawn.aspx

Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

Welcome to the playground. Let me give you some cross dressing advice.

First off shave everything. Well, not the eybrows and scalp but get rid of the rest of it. Use a good exfoliating scrub in the shower every day for a week and then a couple times a week after that. Lotion everything. A good moisturizing formula is what you want. Mens skin gets dry and nasty and you will need to repair decades of damage. My routine goes something like this. Get in shower, exfoliate face, arms, chest and legs. Shave all those areas. Use a good moisturizing body wash over everywhere. Get out, dry off and lotion everything. Then have lotion available all day and keep using it. After a couple weeks your skin will be more feminine. Not as good as hormones but not bad.

Second start off simple. Get your measurments down and do some planning. I made foam hips and butt that slide in under various types of shapewear so I can have curves without surgery. They work pretty good actualy. Once you've got hips measured figure how large a cup you will need to make your bust the same as your hips. Then go shopping, at goodwill or salvation army. Get a nice outfit, don't go too slutty, and see how it feels on you. The worst that happens is you donate it back to goodwill. Get your significant other to help with makeup, get a good wig and see what happens. For short term breasts just fill ballons with water. They work ok, but be careful or else you will get wet. I speak from experience.

Give it a whirl and see how you like it. If it doesn't fit you, then you know something you didn't know before.

I went to see my GP today, he didn't seem to think that I should be referred for hormones, despite me trying to explain how I feel both male and female, he seemed to think I should just stay Mae, but save my legs and other practical things to feel more female.

Not sure if any of it will help.

I have found some people correlate TG = child predator ... just as some have correlated homosexual = child predator...    I am baffled by the TG = unsafe connection ... my wife tends to think this way, that this is all about sexual deviancy ... I try to ask how my preference for wearing frilly socks with embroidered flowers and a comfortable camisole under my lavender T-shirts is sexually deviant (or sexual anything) but I don't get very far...

Not sure.  The perp is a minor.  The problem here is NOT transgender, the problem here is incompetent and criminal administration.  See https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/family-of-loudoun-co-student-sexually-assaulted-ineptitude-of-all-involved-is-staggering/3231725/ It is more than annoying that people think the problem here is TG and that other people think the solution is some stupid statewide law.  Like an appendectomy to deal with an ingrown toe nail.    Since Loudon, I recall a boy was asked not to use the girl's restroom at a high school by one of the girls.  He, overwhelming her with height and weight,  assaulted her, claiming he had a right to be there.   Later I think eight girls beat him severely in another girl's restroom.  Again the problem is not transgender, the problem is assaults in restrooms and common courtesy.  TG is used as a smokescreen and it seems to paralyze thought among administrators who do not want to do anything to provoke controversy.

Time to get with your Primary Care doctor and be referred to a neurologist or an orthopedist.  It could be many things, too many for any of us here to guess at.

Other than the Boy Scout motto, oath, and law. I use two:   When asked how I'm doing? In all honesty I reply. I would have to make something up to complain. If asked to explain further: I reply. I know someone is having a tougher time than I am, and I pray God blesses them.   I also recite this quote that I have tagged in my signature: Courage, doesn't always roar. Sometimes it's the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."-Unknown    Saying these things daily keep me motivated.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

If this goes on, I am conceding the real possibility of being stopped in WM or somewhere by a concerned citizen who tells me, "Lady, God made you female.  I don't think you should be trying to look like a man. You need to return to your true gender and be comfortable living your life out as a woman."   Begin odd and awkward conversation.  I have been thinking about this this morning.

There are many MAGA GOP types who are not transphobes, of course. Some MAGA GOP types are transgender.

I'm hoping to read the next section today.  Many of the reforms they are calling for are good, such as expediting the military procurement process, and have nothing to do with transgender issues.

Good afternoon,    I have a young friend who is vegetarian and married to a full on meat eater. They have two areas of their grill clearly designated for their different cooking requirements. When she’s cooking she uses tongs or chopsticks to handle any meats. When he’s cooking he respects her request not to cook her meals on the side where meat has been. They get along fine and respect each other.    When she attends our house, she usually brings her own food, but knows I will clean my grill to meet her requirements. We love and respect her commitment to be vegetarian. I love that she trusts me to make her comfortable when visiting us. There are ways to make it work.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I was going to call it Numbness, then I realised well.. it isn't. basically, yeah, it isn't.   this only happens to me sometimes. I'll be lying down and my legs will.. well, I guess lock?   If I straighten them out, they will unlock- when I roll over again, they will lock again. this lasts for around 10/ 15 minutes I guess   it's not pins and needles either
