My current part seems to give me nothing, will a vagina be different?

hello all,

I am a pre-op MtF woman and my current part, my penis, gives me no pleasure or anything of the sort if i was to attempt self gratification. I do plan on getting surgery to be post-op but im not sure if i will remain pleasureless even after surgery, i do not have a surgeon yet. i would like to know if i will be able to accomplish a pleasureable sensation or an orgasm with my new vagina after healing even if my old part seemed "numb". has there been other MtF pre op's with this similar problems? i know having a vagina isnt all about pleasure, but that is one factor of having one and the vagina is generally made for sexual pleasures to begin with, as a trans woman sadly cant get the rest of the parts to. thank you in advance for your help <3

I have no personal experience in this area, Kitonie, but from everything I have read, and those I have talked to, it is entirely possible to have sexual pleasure of the same kind and to the same degree as a natal female. But as with all surgery, there are no guarantees. How your GRS will turn out depends on the skill of the surgeon, your own anatomy, and luck.

It will also depend on why you have the problem you do now. If you get no pleasure specifically because of your gender dysphoria, it's possible you will after surgery, but you shouldn't rule out other possible reasons. If sexual pleasure is important to you, I suggest seeing a doctor about it now.

PS - It was good to see your province, Prince Edward listed here. I was there nearly 40 years ago. After having been in Nova Scotia for a week of horrid weather, I took the ferry to Prince Edward. It was a wonderful relief - the weather relented and the island was beautiful!

Hey, it's not miserable here all the time :P

But yes, PEI is beautiful. My family is from there on my paternal side.

Prior to surgery i was also numb, i am 18 months post op, it takes a bit longer but i do climax, the techniques that the top surgeons use today have a decent outcome as far as being sensate after surgery, just be aware that there is always the chance you might not be.

Sexuality is but a very small part of transitioning. Discuss your concerns with your therapist to hel find out what is best for you. SRS is not for everyone eventhough they have transitioned.
