The Weird, The Yuck, But Great Progress

Day 7 after surgery. Today I got my catheter and vaginal packing material removed in Dr. Bower's office. Inspite of my worries, the plumbing came out smoothly with a sensation that was not pain, but totally weirded me out. Then, watching the packing being pulled out really had my eyes popping, The nurse removing it told me there had been about 18 feet of gause in me!!! I did feel a little queasy with the sight and feel, but it was weird and not painful in any sense.

Then I got my lesson on dilation!!! I was introduced to my three new sex partners, and shown how to put about half a tube of lubricant on them, and a good squeeze on the tip of a vaginal antibiotic gel. We got the smallest diameter dilator all the way in without any pain, but even now the lining has feeling that surprises me. An hour ago, I did my first OFFICIAL dilation here in the hotel room. Setting things up for doing it took 20 minutes to lay out protective padding on the bed and slather the dilator in its lubricants, then I took 17 minutes to just keep it in place, doing absolutely nothing, and then another 15 minutes to wash and put away all the stuff.

The wonderful finale was to take my first shower in a week, and get my hair washed!! I am waiting for my hair to dry before doing one more panty liner change, and hitting the bed. Sitting with comfort is now possible with my donut ring, the swelling makes my new anatomy feel like it is pasted on to me, and that it is not yet part of me, it all feels so strange, but yet like it will belong there.

Oh yeah, changed my Gender Selection here from Transsexual to Female, and I have letters from the doctor saying I have had irreversible gender surgery. YES!

Vicky,

My congratulations and sincere best wishes for a full recovery!

I so admire your courage and willingness to share with all of us

the "true facts" about the journey you have taken over the past

few years. It truly helps us all understand the real world in which

we live together. You are one great gal!

Love and continued best wishes!

Vicky I confess because of the title (Weird and Yucky both and thank you for the warning )and being squeamish about some things like the other men in my family line back several generations I didn't read the post. But I did want to say I'm glad there is great progress and wish you a rapid recovery as well

Hugs

I remember thinking when my gauze was pulled out that it reminded me of a magician pulling scarves out of a hat, I'm glad everything is going good for you.

Grats Vicky! And thank you for the warning about the 18 feet. I will be sure to put my Ipod on and put a pillow over my eyes when it comes my time. Gees. I am so looking forward to that part.... :banghead:

Congratulations, Vicky! Unlike Nicole, my personal inquisitiveness will no doubt have me watching everything as much as I can, someday, when that time comes. :)
