Just took the COGIATI

I just completed the Cogiati and found out some interesting things about my self. I have always considered myself a cross dresser, but according to the results of the test value of 50 it advised that I was classified as a Three Androgyne. I am not sure what the three is all about, but I went to the Androgyne Forum and read quite a few posts, and I will admit I can Identify with quite a few people. I still like the term cross dresser and am not sure if I'll change my gender selection. I know this will be on my mind and cause me a bit of confusion, but I guess time will tell on how I idnetify myself. Thanks again for such a beautiful place and allowing me who I want to be. Love Amber L.

The Cogiati is by no means completely accurate. Please don't allow it to make you doubt yourself. It may help you to do what you did and look at other options but finding who we are is a more difficult(sometimes) search. It also seems to vary over time, if not moment to moment depending on what we are focusing on. I find that working with a therapist GT has been the best way for me to discover myself. Laura's has also given me a place to explore while not being judged in the process.

Please keep exploring without pressuring yourself to fit any "role".

Hugs,

Charlie

you are welcome, amber :) i will always respect people and who they want to be. this is a good place for that

but, like charlie said, keep in mind that it is you who must decide who you are, not a test. :) good luck to you. hugs*

The Cogiati is fun to try, your score means you fit dead in the middle of the genders of everybody by their definition. Up to HRT and SRS, you can adventure into almost ALL gender expressions and presentations and go back to square 1 with only a little harm to your finances and none to your body. Present as who and how you want to be known in safe environments, BUT if you do not find your niche with crossdressing or gender bending, then a Gender Therapist is in your future!!

What a wonderful group of ladies you all are. After going back through and reading more of the forums and reflecting on my own thoughts and from all the wonderful input from you ladies I ve decided that I will stand tall and identify as a Cross Dresser. My inner self tells me this is who I am. I just dont feel I identify with the Androgyne classification. Thanks to all of you who have the desire to take time and help someone make their walk in life easier. God Bless you all. Love Amber L.

How accurate is this test? I've heard about it before, and wasn't sure how it could actually tell you whether you were trans/cd. I have my doubts....does anyone here know the true answer to this question?

Only you can find the true answer...only you can know who you are. but, i will admit, the COGAITI does help guide you, but it should only be used as such.

And about how accurate it is... I actually am not too fond of it. many of the questions asked on it are based off gender stereotypes, and that is an epic fail :D hahaha. but still - you can check it out and see what it says; maybe it will help you

I got a 330 which was probable transexual I think :P. I tried to take it as accurately as I could but some of the questions just seemed to focus solely on stereotypes :P I guess some of the thought processes are there, but really i don't know about it xP It didn't tell me too much other than you might have something going on go see someone. The only thing it did help me with was accepting that I should go see someone for help as it gave me some written validation to what I was feeling c: It was kind of nice to have something tell me flat out like that, even if it is probably horribly inaccurate xD

If it helps, Amber, I ran the Cogiati a few times and each time came out 'Androgynous' Now I think that label is poor because the term is normally applied to those who don't really identify with either sex. But the Cogiati uses it the opposite way - describing those who are happy to express their gender either way depending on mood, etc.

But I do totally go with your interpretation. I'm just the same as you. I don't take the Coghiati seriously but it is a useful indicator. I decided OK - I'm a cross-dresser and the Cogiati helps me feel good about it! I think more of it as a wandering gender expression. I also took the Bem Sex-Role Inventory and that had my gender expression as 75% feminine. The BBC did a similar test and I scored the same result on that.

The best thing is, the tests help, but don't define us. Being true to ourselves is the thing, and I really identify with how you reacted to the tests!

Hugs

Eve

Nope.  I live in a rural area.  Pride events are for city folks.  The normally quiet LGBTQ+ club kind of changes atmosphere during that time, and things get a bit political.  As a non-Democrat, I avoid it.

For me, definitely the size thing.  I'm 5'4" on a good day, and 100lbs.  I can pass as a teenage boy, but never for my real mid-30s age.  And since my husband looks older than his age, I'm often assumed to be his kid.  Or folks think there's something illegal going on.      Also, my lack of the typical aggressive "masculine" demeanor.  I don't really desire the typical masculine social role, nor could I do it even if I tried really hard.  I'm usually quiet and kind of timid.

I am sorry for your struggles. I cannot empathize, but I can surely sympathize. I wish only the best for you!

No, they are the only provider of services I need an my area. 😑

My size. A lot of guys aren't 5'3" at seventeen. My hands. It's a less noticeable one, but my hands are very "feminine"? If you know what I mean. My voice. Very high-pitched. I don't just sound like a female, I sound like a little girl sometimes My chest. I've had to stop binding due to frequent aches doing so, and it's not nearly small enough to just cover with baggy clothes My family. They still call me she/her, so that's an automatic out. My anxiety. I might be able to pass better if I had the courage to correct people. Instead, I'm too scared to speak up, so I find it hard. My lack of men's clothes.   Anyone else have these problems, or other ones?

From what I have read and heard most people are so.busy with their everyday lives and either looking at their phones or in a hurry to notice you out and about.

This exactly ^^^   I actually really liked games where I was required to play a male character. It felt homey, in a way.

I can relate.  I have always played a female character when given the opportunity. Not really and reason except I just alway pick them since I was young

Yes, our little town is having its 3rd annual Pridefest. I've volunteered the first two years  from setup to tear down (though I do take an hour off to eat and drink in the middle).     Then I attend a bigger one a couple towns over that has had some decent entertainment from some semi-famous folks (Laura Benanti, Patrick Wilson, Carmen Carrera, Judy Gold, etc).    This year I made sure to ask off of (weekend) shifts to attend a 3rd one where a group I'm in is in the parade.

Hi Vicky, I agree with you, so far since the time I've been under the new treating doctor's care, she prescribed me medication, but it's for children lol  luckily  my pharmacy warned me from a phone call not to take the medication.

Welcome to the party, M.A.     Sounds chaotic haha, I can confidently say that living with only two children the same age is stressful enough, much less three!
