Well, it's been FOREVER and then some since I've been on here! I thought I'd pop by and give a little update on how I've been :3

  • I'm going by Jesse full-time at school. I'm still legally female and Jesse isn't my legal name, but whatever.
  • I use the men's bathrooms pretty much all the time and only get looks sometimes. Never had an incident.
  • Not on T. I have a friend who got their recommendation letter from the University's counseling center, so I had an intake there. The wait list is long, but when I did the intake the lady I met with agreed that I know exactly what the problem is and how to go about it, and she said she would talk to her supervisors about bumping me up on the list cause it's a more urgent matter =)
  • Both of my parents know, but they still won't call me Jesse or he. My mom is open to jokes about it though. Both of my younger siblings know and call me Jesse, same with my older brother, his wife, one aunt, and some cousins!
  • I have a boyfriend. He's amazing. Thanks to him, I no longer feel the need to pack or bind, nor cover up with band-aids. I have little to no dysphoria. He's fully supportive of me and can't wait til I'm able to get on T and get the surgeries I need to be fully happy with myself <3

That's it for now. Just a lil' update so y'ins know I'm not dead :3

Hey Jesse I'm happy to hear you are making progress but most importantly Accepting what's going on. As for your family, what I found is a lot of people generally don't understand being trans. I come from a very strict religious background and I purposely only told my parents, sister, close cousins and closest aunts and uncles oh and my grandma. It wasn't until I spoke to my Grandma that I realized how new Gender Dysphoria is to people who are that sheltered. I'm not exactly sure what your family is like but what helped me was talking about what it's like to grow up being trans. Specific examples helped a lot and so did letting them ask questions after I was done. It's important to not get mad because anger won't solve anything. Maybe eventually they will come around but what matters is that you are ok with who you are. Thanks for the update and stay safe!

Thanks Davie! And don’t worry, I didn’t take it that way. It’s just such a big topic I can only hope to tackle it one bit at a time.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

USA doctors denounce Cass Report, support trans folks.  The Endocrine Society And American Academy Of Pediatrics Respond To Cass, Reject Bans. In recent weeks, the Cass Review out of the United Kingdom has been used to argue for bans on care. I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.

Second warning, this has gotten far and apart from the NEWS item that it started out with and is becoming a flat out battleground over political leanings and terminology.
