I need advice on makeup color choices

I am going to a local TG support group meeting, and could use some advice on makeup color choices.

I want to get the best color for my complexion and eye color. Any advice I get would be appreciated.

Your foundation is best to be chosen in a place where you can try several shades. Without knowing which product you are going to buy, I can't even begin to guess. I like Derma Blend, and its colors come in names and numbers, and the best way is to take several small samples of it and put them on the inside of your arm and hold it up to a mirror beside your face. The color closest to your complexion or just a tiny bit darker will be what you want. The sales people will not even blink if you tell them it is for you.

For your eyes, for the first few times, don't do as I did, be a bit on the conservative side. (I went overboard on a lavender color one time, and am now remembered for it in places I wish I weren't.) My eyes while blue, react better to light browns or cream/sand colors. Sephora has eye shadow combo palettes with two brown colors, light and darker. Again, get one of their cosmetic demo people to help you, but a good way is to use a light color on your lids, and just below the brows, then the dark color in the crease of the eyelid and outer corner of the eye.

Seek professional help! Seriously, find a makeup artist and just ask.

You want a concealer and foundation that match your skin tone, and eyeshadow that accents your eyes, the whole 9 yards. If you're squeamish about being seen at a store, try setting up a private consultation. Some of them will do that.
