Hello Skandy :) welcome to Laura's :)

Many who are travelling this journey don't know who they are the confusion can cause a lot of stress . The best thing to do wold be to see a gender therapist , they can help you discover more about yourself and guide you in what ever choices you need to make . It's a process try not to be hard on yourself and enjoy you just the way you are .

We have an introduction forum where if you like you can write a small I too of yourself there . This allows others to welcome you also .

And don't be sorry your your English is very understandable I had no problems reading your topic . Relax and enjoy , looking forward to getting to know you Skandy :)

Hi Skandy: I like your name. I like you was confused for a very long time. More than 50 years. I can say that I do not know where I would be now if it had not been for Laura, the Moderators, and the wonderful people here. It is one of the hardest things going through life not knowing who you are. There is so much knowledge, experience, kindness, and understanding here at the playground. Please dont worry yourself, Everyone here is here to help you on your journey. Enjoy yourself and who you are. Hugs to you. Amber L.

Hi Skandy!

I know how bad it sometimes feels to be so confused. But first of all you are YOU, an individual unique person. :)

Take your time, I think time is important. No stress, no pressure... you're in the right place here. su con la vita!

No matter how we end up labeling or identifying I think many of us go through these feelings. I know I thought for awhile I might be bi-gendered but in time realized much of what I liked about being female was because I needed to in order to survive. They were learned things that dropped away. We are socialized to like this and be that as a particular gender and I think it;s nothing short of a miracle and absolute proof of the brain configuration origin of this condition that we do manage to still change genders in some cases. But not all. When I read posts like this I remember the times I got so tired of feeling different today than I did yesterday-or in some cases even different in the morning than the afternoon. For me it lead to a realization I am and have always been male and I needed to embrace that. For you it may be otherwise.

But the really important thing is to give yourself permission to be whatever you are. To embrace and celebrate who you are no matter what or who that is. People can label objects-rocks for instance -because we can scientifically test them and understand where each fits and put it in that box. But we lack the knowledge or understanding -the judgment or testing equipment to do that with human beings. We just don't really fit in neat little boxes with labels all the time. Some do. They are lucky. Many, many don't. Some who don't still make themselves fit in the box and live lives of quiet misery. But I think the real key is learning to accept that who you are is fine. Is good and you have the right to just be you. That can get to be a bit of a challenge as far as answering what seems like a simple question like gender but I think it's worth the price of an occasional puzzled reaction or detailed explanation. What are you? You are first and foremost just you. And in time as long as you are open to it and keep looking you will come to understand who and what that is.

Fundamentally anyway because we are also fluid and lots changes from day to day and year to year whether it's gender related as with some people or just how we express other aspects of our personalities. To grow is to change.

No one can really tell you what or who u are

Some might try , but you are the only one with all the pieces of that puzzel

A thearipist can help you reach inside yourself and discover the answer

But cannot just tell you

Good luck sweet heart

PS We prefer that members see a therapist about gender issues. Gender issues can be complex and have life threatening consequences. If you do not have a therapist please consult our list of therapists: http://lauras-playground.com/gender_therapists.htm

I completely understand the feeling. It’s much like watch a kettle come to boil. Looking back the changes were much like that boiling kettle…the less anticipation, the faster the results seem to have come or became noticeable to me. I do have to say that there was sort of an immediate placebo effect in just the fact that I knew I was finally making it real and that the process had begun. I was immediately at peace with my decision which up until that point I kept second guessing all the negative possibilities it might create. Almost 6 years in, I wouldn’t change my path in any way.   And a big congratulations for being able to make that leap toward authenticity. That is a huge milestone!   Best of luck on your journey, Susan R🌷

I'm not sure that's quite true.  If it was done by private entities?  Like most landfills here are privately owned, as are power plants.  I can't see a reason they couldn't be combined.    Right now, garbage companies in my area harvest the methane produced by the landfill to run their trucks.  The put all sorts of pipes in among the layers of the landfill to collect it.  Compressed natural gas (CNG) can be used with only minor modifications to existing engines, and many truck stops are adding CNG pumps as some fleets transition to it.    A fuel's usefulness is often measured in BTU's per gallon.  CNG has approximately the same BTUs as diesel or gasoline (138,000 or so.)  Pure ethanol and E85 have much less - like 76,000 BTUs.

Well, after a week on HRT, as many would probably have predicted, I've noticed exactly zero mental or physical changes. Patience appears to be the key here as hard as that will be after finally getting my transition moving. Guess I just need to sit back and enjoy the ride. Hope that my first blood tests after two months will show hormone levels moved acceptively.

A therapist appt is a great place to dress femme, If you want to!   It also sounds like a great safe venue to speak softer and more feminine, if that’s where you want to go.     Not sure the rules now.  But if you’re seeking HRT you might have to show them something to convince the money system that your case is medically necessary.  Obvious feminine clothes and mannerisms displayed by a human assigned male at birth (perhaps this is you?)  could be check marks towards them pushing your case through.     Please be whatever brings you love for who you are.   I have pursued this all the way through obstacles, mistakes, humiliation, and pain. And I  am so so so grateful  Hugs 😊 🌈🌈

Puzzled.  My United Healthcare Medical Advantage DOES cover gender affirming surgeries.  The HARD part is finding a surgeon that's in-network.  If the surgeon is out of network, the coverage is 40%/60% (they pay 60%).    Sadly, the surgeon I'd like to have, Dr Russell Sassani, in south Florida, is out-of-network and requires full payment prior to surgery.  I'm certain that there have been insurance issues for him and others, in the past.  Most GOOD surgeons for trans surgeries don't submit insurance, though they WILL help you with the codes, etc.  Actually, he does accept some regular insurance and original Medicare.     Anyway, I hope you were able to get your surgery or at least closer to being able to do so.

Welcome Madelyn, glad you are here and best wishes on your journey!!   I started HRT about two months ago... Had my initial appointment in December... Other than a bra underneath my clothes, I likely didn't look feminine at all ... I was nervous as heck but the doc put me at ease...   Just be yourself... do what feels comfortable for you ... The pace is up to you... Remember, you are one of a kind and have inestimable worth...    EasyE

I have been creating a space to be expressive. It's def not completed yet, I have loads of ideas still. Thinking about re-painting, maybe a light pastel purple or light pink, with a satin gloss. Honestly I'm hung on which would look best. Leave a comment if you think it would look better pink or purple. This area is a combination Man-Cave / She Shack. This is my sacred space, I think it's coming out well so far. I love this room, it inspires my creativity. Tho, I think there's not much man left in the cave lol.

Then there is how FDR is revered, and the ridiculous reluctance of the left to ever say anything negative about Biden.  It destroys their credibility.  Obsessed with Trump, they ignore how much worse Biden is.

The title of this thread is highly offensive.

Oh…. Now I get what the transgender agenda is.  I missed it.   I just didn't realize he was running again.   Silly me.   I'm going to quit now.  I've already been an ass
