What surgeries would you like?

I'm planning on getting surgery in a few years, once I make money, and assuming I still look manly once my HRT effects max out. I want:

1. Orchiectomy

2. Breast implants

3. Abdominal liposculpture

4. Arm lift

5. Butt lift

6. Facial feminization surgery

What would you want?

Not only what you need, but also what you can afford. I'm going to have surgery the end of this summer for FFS and I'm taking $19,000.00 worth of equity out of my home to pay for it. There is more that I would like to have done, but we seldom get all that we desire or want. But I'm getting what is important that I need. When you wait until you are 58 years old, the cost goes up in what you need and the amount of what you can expect from HRT is vastly changed the older you are. Beside surgery costs, their is the cost of travel and lodging\recuperation plus ancillary expenses. Those expenses add up fast.

I want to caution people that it always costs more than you think starting out. So you have to be prepared to sharpen your pencil and cut anything marginal. Individual surgeons always push for everything they can so you need to be a smart consumer with your healthcare dollars. Will I spend $19,000, probably not, some of it will be a backup against unforseen expenses. Kathryn

There's no saying what the result of HRT will be... But assuming you mean "other than GRS" which I'm planning on getting, I think if I do get surgery it'll be subtle things. Trachial shave perhaps, and a very modest breast augmentation. Just enough to get a large B, for instance. Just to get pretty much what I have right now with my breast forms (which are supposed to be C's but fit very snuggly in B bras I have).

If I really want to throw money out the window, then I'll consider nose surgery because, not only do I find my nose just a little too big, I also have some issues breathing through it so I'd just kill two birds with one stone.

But I don't really *need* any of it. It's just possible maybe I'll consider it slightly after some thought. Perhaps.

I think that the only surgery that I feel totally comfortable with is an orchiechtomy. I have a face that is a mix of very masculine features and feminine features, but I think I would be comfortable with it, so I don't think I would want FFS, though I obviously have an Adam's apple, I have seen genetic females with a more pronounced one, so I don't feel inclined to have a trachea shave. I would be completely comfortable with small breasts, and I have been pretty sure for the past 6 years or so that having a vagina would be just as uncomfortable to me as as having a penis, so full SRS is not something that I see as necessary for me.

As long as I don't have my T factories and I am allowed to be a woman, then I will be a happy person :)

I don't particularly want any surgery, I hate pain, I hate being incapacitated, and I hate being put under. Surgery is sadly often an unavoidable evil with transition and I hope to not need anything more than SRS.

I think Brenda's response was spot on, surgery shouldn't be about want it has to be about need. I won't guess as to what surgeries I will need when the time comes so I'll just stick with SRS since that is the only thing right now that I know I need.

Now that SRS is over and done, NONE whatsoever!! I am happy with my B's which love a tiny boost with a couple of inserts in the right tops or lack of top dresses. No hyoid protrusion to speak of, and a flat out recommendation by two surgeons to save my money and let them use the time to make bigger bucks.

down the road, I can imagine SRS, and perhaps FFS. I only recently realized what a brow ridge is and that mine is noticeable! (jokes on me :D ) I think a more pressing need is to stop the flow of T. Speaking hypothetically at this point in my life...

Does an orchiectomy preclude SRS at a later date? Seems the former is quicker and less expensive and would bring numerous effects such as reducing my muscle tone (shoulder, biceps). Does lack of T reduce/thin-out male pubic hair or is that specifically an effect of E?

I live in a city where cosmetic surgeries is all the rage for middle aged genetic females. Some of them then age horribly, they look like the cartoon with "Skeletor" I am real reluctant for any of that. I need teeth so I want a nice set of female teeth dentures. That will help my face profile. Hormones have done a super change on me. I'm going to love the rest of my puberty.

If the money fell from heaven, I would take the bob job in a New York Minute!!! Unfortunately, this old dame and that thing down there, probably won't be parting ways any time soon. He is well behaved now and stays tucked away obediently. We still have fun regularly together so no complaints. Giggle.

It will depend on the surgeon who does the SRS, so you may need to narrow the list of surgeons if you have an "orchie". One Thai surgeon will not do SRS if your orchie is over a certain time before his services are wanted.

Anything that T affects will show the REDUCED T in your system, since even natal females have a certain level in their bodies, but women have pubic hair too, so you may want to look at an SRS web site and have electro done to those patterns before you have the orchie done. That will take care of two things at once for you, and, pardon the term pave the way, for future events.

It's a tough question to answer because I have no idea what exactly I'll want or need a year or two in the future. I've always held the opinion that FFS is more important for my day-to-day life, since my public presentation affects me with regards to everyone I interact with every day. That said, GCS is absolutely in my future even though I may be the only one to ever really know about it.

Will I want BA? No idea. As of right now I don't, but ask me again in a year or two once I've had time to let the girls do their thing.

I'm not sure I'll need a tracheal shave.

I suppose rhinoplasty, since my nose is probably the one public feature I'm unhappy with sometimes. But then I have my mother's nose and it suits her so if it's passable down the road I may just keep it.

TL;DR: GCS is the only surgery I consider absolutely necessary. I'll cross the other bridges when I get to them.

Having given this more thought, I wish I had a need to contemplate breast size reduction. Giggle. Who knows, my puberty is a long way from over yet. Hug. JodyAnn

Well, this is a highly interesting question. At the time when I will have enough money for SRS, there will probably be more advanced techniques, such as full organ transplant or ovary implantation.

At the present, I'd like to have SRS, VFS, breast augmentation, and permanent hair removal.

Time will tell, I'm probably starting HRT next month.
Still 100% sure about SRS, by that time I'll know if I'll desire FFS or a boob job.

Like Kaylee I'm not too happy about my nose, which is identical to my mom's but seems to work for her.

Well, I have to say that I will avoid surgery wherever possible. Some of the surgery available has quite limited results in my opinion and so why go through the risk and discomfort for little benefit? On my list though are the following:-

1) GRS (most likely the cosmetic over the vaginoplasty as there is less risk and better healing results).

2) Tracheal shave - my GP is in the process of requesting the referral for me to have this procedure.

I would rather see what nature and HRT give me for breasts - I'm not too keen on having an augmentation.

So far hrt has changed me more than I would have imagined in only a year. So for ffs...dont need it. Gcs is going to happen for sure for I cant deal with that thing anymore. Im hoping they can give me a trachtshave at the same time. Breast aug. Prolly not...im not heading into the B range and my laser tech. is already jealous at me. So, whatever nature, my genes and hrt throws at me I will catch and appreciate....knowing i could be less fortunate and consider myself lucky. I may not look like a photo model but the girl next door look is all I ever wanted anyways.

Well, I'll mention a few generalities from web-land that are not necessarily specific to this forum.   Here's some things that can possibly happen:  Disagree with somebody's policy and you just get silenced and eventually disappeared.  Stuff you write vanishes into thin air (and it ain't AI). Threads get shut down for not being "on topic" (a catch-all for when no other rule can be quoted and somebody with power just doesn't agree with you.)  Or if you have a disagreement with somebody (or a few somebodies), they get to mostly say whatever they want, but you get censored.  When it happens over and over again, it has the effect of eventually turning forums into echo chambers.  Some really good forums on the web have withered and vanished over the years because of this.  I have also noticed that the American portion of the internet is increasingly bifurcated, as each partisan side attempts greater control of their own turf.   Given that we're all humans, nobody will have the "absolute" answer to this stuff.  Only more questions, and plenty of philosophy.  I think that one way to measure the health of a forum is to see how acceptable it is to ask questions about policies and their enforcement.  Publicly.  And regarding specific instances as they occur, rather than generalities with specifics kept in the shadows.

Hi @Madelyn Rain - nice to meet you and Welcome!   To answer your question, when I first talked to my Dr about HRT I was in 'boy-mode" - partly because I was not socially out to anybody yet and was not dressing publicly. But my Dr was very accepting and understanding.  He knew I had been in gender therapy for a couple of years and this was likely the next step.  He noted my preferred name, and my gender pronouns (she/her).  He updated my records to indicate this and referred to me as she/her in my medical records. My experience was very positive and I hope yours is also.  Congratulations on your decision to start HRT. Deep breaths .. One step at a time

That's a truly inspirational story ... I love the focus of Zaya's mission - "The question was presented to her as, 'If you have one thing that you want to see change in this community, what would it be?'" Wade recalled. "And for her, it goes right to parents. It goes right to the adults. It goes right to us. It's not the kids. It's us."

I have two bags, both UNIQLO bags just different colors. I’ve become a bit of a shoe girl, though. My willpower and my tenuous employment situation has kept me from buying more though.

I could not agree more or be more appreciative of this. As one who has come out to only a few people, here I can truly be myself with little fear of inadvertent exposure. Having that ability has helped me to find myself and to gain confidence in expressing my true self. It has helped me to love myself, something I could never do before.

I appreciate this so much and it's one of the reasons why this community feels like home - a rare treasure among the world wide web.

As far as things being lost on the Web, accidents happen, Just here alone, I have 20,825 posts showing in my number count, but probably only 19K of them are still actually here to view.  There was a change to a new server a number of years ago, and a segment of the data base they were in became locked and could not be transferred to the new drive in the servers we use now.  Why or how that segment of the data base became locked has not been figured out in the time since but at least we know what happened and it was not intentional or aimed at a single element of behavior here.  Data accidents happen with not one single person really responsible for them or for that matter even the computer itself.  Frustrating as all get out when it happens, but it does happen.  Some other electronics I work on as a hobby had their similar problems here a couple days ago because of the Solar Flares, and power outages or dips in voltage can make electronic life miserable.

This is very true, Jani.  The original owner of this site, Laura, and her chief assistants, developed our community rules more than 15 years ago.  They have been modified many times, to take into account changing tastes, mores, technical issues and legal issues.  Sites such as TikTok and X didn't exist then.  Our naughty word filter, as just one example, has been modified many, many times.   On this site, as on most private sites, in order to become a member one must agree to the T's & C's and abide by, in our case, the "Community Rules."  If you seriously violate those rules your membership can be terminated.  So, yes, freedom of speech here is restricted.  Some sites are lax about enforcement, but that has never been the case here.  We guard the safety of members, and your emotional comfort, zealously.  We aren't perfect and sometimes let things get out of hand, or we go too far with restrictions, but those instances are uncommon (IMO).   Every site has different standards.  Luckily, for every interest there are numerous sites and it's usually easy to find one that fits your needs and temperament.  When it comes to the Internet, one size does not fit all.   Thanks for your question, @Ladypcnj.   Carolyn Marie
