Panties and pantyhose?

OK, here's the question. When wearing pantyhose (something that I don't do as much as I used to) does one wear the panties under or over the pantyhose? Or is this one of those things that some do one way and others do it the other way?

Some of that will depend on the brand of pantyhose and how the panty part is structured. If it has a panel of non nylon material in the center of the crotch, it can even be worn without a separate panty. If there is no "crotch panel", a pair of underpants go on first, and the panty hose panty is pulled up over them. You are less likely to get an infection going if you use cotton briefs. The nylon on your skin will keep the moisture in, and nice and warm, and fungus infections love it.

Supposedly, there was an "incident" involving panties on a head and pantyhose knotted loosely around a neck.

I remember nothing of the sort, and no pictures have surfaced.

Have worn nylon panties without a cotton gusset for eighteen years and have never experienced an infection in my crotch area! If I wear pantyhose I put on the panties first! Also usually wear all nude pantyhose without cotton inserts.

Hi Linda,

As a matter of etiquette; One should always put one's panties on first. One can then discard said hosiery etc. if need arises and still be suitably attired.

(I used the word 'attired' in preference to that of 'dressed' as the term 'dressed' has a particular meaning .......

in this neck of the woods!

Panties (knickers) first, pantyhose (tights) on top. I quite like the "suspender" pantyhose that leave the whole crotch area free - saves boiling in nylon. But even better I am a raging fan of silicone-band hold-up stockings. They just solve everything. They feel like stockings, going to the loo is easy, they are lovely on the legs, etc. At work I often under-dress in 60 denier hold-up stockings and mid-calf soft leather flat-heeled boots that look like office shoes below my trousers. Way more comfortable over my foot-mangling men's socks and shoes. But they are not summer wear, so summer can be a bland time for me (if we get any summer in the UK).

I like garter belts or as the Brits call them suspenders and nothing else. Must be me kilt thing! For serious passing in full femaile atire, a girdle or corset with butt and hip pads added is the best. I prefer levi or punk styles and long knit socks or leg warmers work quite well even maleish mode with shorts. They are also very practical as they can be rolled down to the ankles if you get too hot.

As I said in my original post, I don't wear pantyhose very much any more. I have been buying the Day sheer stay-up thigh highs at Sears. They have an elastic band instead of the silicone. The C/D size (how appropriate is that?) are just the right length to go up to the very top of my thighs. I can wear them with the shortest skirts, shorts etc. and I really like the way they feel. I even wear them under my man cloths sometimes.

Always undergarments underneath. The only thing I hate about wearing my beloved tights is having to visit the bathroom, I always worry that I might scag my tights when rolling them back on. Thank goodness I seldom do. It's great when I do put them on I imagine that I am a twenty something gg visiting the ladies in a nightclub.

I'm sorry but it must be the 'Girl Guide' in me!..... In the past when I have run out and run up a leg so to speak. I have dug out another damaged pair - same colour* etc.! - cut off the damaged legs and put both on, yes ok one on each leg! in this way one can extend the life of one's tights... though that was in the days when money was tight (no pun intended!)

*Though different colours and designs would be quite er.... pretty and eyecatching!

Hey just had a thought! If one did that with two different coloured pairs of good tights with the unused legs tucked neatly away .... gosh a girl would have a spare set ready for use all the time !
