Heyy, I'm new to this site so lets just get started I guess (Honestly I'm nervous...)

Well my chosen name is undecided so far, mainly cause I'm not out, to anyone, I've only hinted things to few people and they seem indifferent/okay with it considering it's not really unexpected from me to be MTF/?.

I consider myself MTF so far but I'm not too sure what I am. I know I might not want SRS but I would love breast augmentation... I don't know what you'd call that, I consider myself MTF even if I may or may not get SRS.

I'm pre-everything, my hair is short but I'm growing it out.

I'm very self-concious about my weight, but it's alright! I'm taking very safe dietary pills and trying to eat right... (I don't look overweight or anything it's just something that drags me down...)

My favorite color is yellow!!

I love Lana Del Rey and Kim Petras! :D

Indie and Pop are my favorite types of music.

I have lots of friends but I only trust like two people mainly, I have trust issues and I'm VERY emotional and caring, I think.

I like horror movies and romantic comedies, just because... I don't know I like feeling scared and I like seeing dumb things  ...

Well that's me. I'm nothing special, I'm just excited to be here, so heyy everyone, you all look nice, although I've never been so shy to come to a forum like this. ^_^

Well that's me. I'm nothing special,

Well, on that point, you're wrong, hon. You are special, because you're here, and you're willing to learn, and we are all unique in this world. That makes us each very special.

Welcome to the Playground, hon. It sounds like you can learn a lot here, so please feel free to ask any questions and post any comments. No need to feel nervous or shy. We were all just where you were not so very long ago. One has to start somewhere.

Please look around the forums and post in any threads that interest you, or start your own. After five posts you'll have access to all the site features, including the Private Message (PM) system and member profiles. I do ask all our new members to please read the site Terms and Conditions, as they help us keep the site safe.

HUGS

It's alright to not have all the answers right away, and you've come to a good place to try to learn more. Like Carolyn said feel free to ask questions there are many here who have been through similar experiences. :)

Looking forward to hearing more from ya.

Hi and welcome dear. I've grown a lot since i first wrote a post here. Take your time, look around and read. If and as you discover your path you will find others on similar journeys. Even if they are headed the opposite direction their experiences are not so different.

Please don't feel pressured to go beyond your comfort zone. There is no good or bad path only your own. Sometimes a GT helps some of us find that path if we start to think about transition.

Welcome again and enjoy your journey,

Hugs,

Charlie

Welcome to Laura's :)

There is a boat load of hidden treasure in these forums. I'm sure you will find topics, and answers, that will help you find yourself. Many of us have been where you sit in the transitioning process. Having SRS does not mean you aren't transsexual. Many trans people don't choose this route.

When you are ready, I would recommend seeing a therapist who specializes in gender issues, or gender therapist (GT). This person will help you navigate to the point in the gender spectrum where you belong.

Welcome to the Playground!

As Jennifer notes, having SRS isn't "required" to be trans. Heck, transitioning isn't required to be trans! It's just one option among many to deal with your gender dysphoria.

In fact, before you actually choose to do something about your gender dysphoria, it's almost always a good idea to find and work with a gender therapist. A good therapist will help you find out about the real your, who you are, what your longer term needs are, and how to formulate a plan to meet those needs. Whether those needs include transitioning and SRS is part of the self-discovery process. Laura's has people who approach their GID in many different ways so feel free to ask questions!

Good luck!

I spent 30 years repressing this aspect of my life. I feel like trans is what I am. I don't feel male, at the same time I don't know what it is to be a genetic female either though I relate to female more. My gender is trans or MTF trans to be more specific, and what a great place to be, to have experiences that show us aspects of both worlds!

Hugs!

People who are out publicly, and openly transgender, maybe on HRT, having changed names and gender, have a lot to lose if anti-trans politicians take power.  They have openly called for our eradication, and promise to do everything they can to accomplish this.  (again, 2025) For someone in this position the election is about our survival.  It's foolish to delude ourselves into thinking "Oh, they don't really mean that.  It's all for show," or, "There's other more important things to concern ourselves with." Maybe for some people the other things take priority.  But if you have skin in the game, things look different.

If that happens, a lot of things I don't want to see might also be codified into law.  And some things that shouldn't be law might not get repealed.  To me, progress in one area isn't worth the price we'd have to pay in several other areas.     For me, voting on LGBTQ issues always ends up as an "out of the frying pan, but into the fire" sort of event.

Trying out a new wig. Got my reading glasses on. I've also got dark roots now - first time in years.

Thea, your post made me think of a comic named Chloe Petts whom I saw recently on Hannah Gadsby's Gender Agenda comedy special on Netflix. She is a cisgender masculine lesbian. She is brilliant and so funny. I was intrigued by her identification - specifically masculine, not butch. And it seems to me there is a difference.

Today I had a dr appt. When I checked in, I was asked my surname, which I gave. Apparently there were two patients with appointments at that time with that same surname. The receptionist asked, "Are you (my legal name which is feminine) or Paul?" I got such a kick out of it not being assumed I had the feminine name.

That must have felt affirming, albeit perhaps weirdly so. However, I'd construe that more broadly (no pun intended) as sexism rather than misogyny where the latter would imply contempt. Also, incidentally, I've heard chivalry referred to as "benevolent sexism".

My boss is in a panic. His business is a couple straws away from breaking a camel in half. He's just handling the stress very poorly.   My dad, though. He's handling things pretty well, as long as I continue to don't get massively offended by being called: son, boy, etc. His eldest is leaving the State and looks so different than he's been used to over the years. I haven't told him I'm on HRT, but to be fair the changes haven't been massive. I've always had boobs, more so after COVID weight gain and made more obvious with its loss, but now I'm not hiding them--and obviously wearing a bra. The estrogen has done some work, but nothing major (sadly). I think the biggest HRT changes have been my skin and a mild amount of fat redistribution.   Today I'm wearing my cheater, I almost have cleavage! :D I need to get another t-shirt bra to keep a good rotation. I only have two, one push-up, and the rest are unlined (great for Summer, but not great for my Summer wardrobe ).

I eat a ketogenic diet and have had no problems. I don't know about your case but I suspect it is the estrogen. Research the types of ways to take estrogen. Pay close attention to the bloodwork results. If they are not satisfactory, bring it up with your doctor. I take injectables, which are fully covered by insurance. It may not be the route for you, but something to consider. I emphasize to do your research and good luck. You can solve this. Be persistent.    Jennifer

I'm in a magenta blouse under a baby blue buttoned cardigan - still a little cool here in the northeast today - with dark blue jeans. Oh, and my favorite flame colored copper feather earrings.

White crop top and capri jeans ;) Finaly tricked the face id on my phone, "that's not you" lol.

This is my opinion, so take it for that. Fatigue is based more on what you eat. Eat a more healthy diet, and stay away from ultra-processed foods and that should help. Think of eating the way we did a couple hundred years ago before the industrial revolution. It's just a thought.   Jennifer

Welcome back, Jennifer! As a relative newbie to the forum and to transition, I look forward to getting to know you and share in your experiences.
