MTF Facial beauty with minimal makeup

I'm going to start by saying I am autistic, and I have some sensory defenses that may not be typical. Things I find most upsetting are things on my neck (I cannot wear scarves, I feel like I'm choking, but recently I've been able to wear loose thin collars [like goth style collars]). Another thing that upsets me are things on my cheeks and my jawline. I do not know if lipstick would upset me, but I used to have an addiction to chapstick and I assume wax is heavier than oil.

So lipstick and eyeliner/shadow are things I want to try, but are there any 1-coat-only things I can use to brighten my face or smooth some of my curves, or at the least hide my freckles? Heavy makeup won't do, I need something light.

There may be something here, probably alot, that could help.

Regarding freckles, as the proud possessor of those Angel Kisses myself I will say this: It is better to minimize them through makeup, rather than obliterate... Its not like trying to hide a dueling scar or a nasty birthmark. The reality is that the heavy makeup that would be needed to make them invisible would look worse than what you think the freckles look like. A softening of the look through a light makeup or foundation is probably all you want to do.

Even some of the foundations that are a little heavier can be lightened up by putting a good moisturizing cream on just before the foundation. The moisturizer helps it spread on thinner and easier, and then is absorbed by your face. My suggestion on the freckles is to go to a store like Sephora, Ulta or MAC and if you can, let one of the sales reps do samples on you. They can do it on the inside of your forearm to let you see the colors. Some of their recommendations are worth having.

I agree with the Sephora's idea, they even have a nifty little device that can determine the general color of your skin and match it with the correct foundation or concealer. I'm a medium beige! They are very helpful there, and as they also sell men's skin care supplies, you need not be embarrassed just by walking in.

Be proud of your freckles!!! My French teacher has this beautiful mix of her freckles and foundation and I always loved the unique beauty of it. -Love, Nicki
