Questions About Chest Surgery

Hey guys, so I've been thinking a lot about what chest surgery would be best for me. It would definitely be awhile before I actually do it, since college is making me broke as it is lol. The fact that bilateral leaves those huge scars really bugs me, but I don't know if I "qualify" for peri. I'm an A cup..actually going by my measurements, not even that, because A-cup is a 1inch difference and I have 34-34. Don't know exactly how that works but hey I'm not gonna complain :D

Anyway I know it makes more sense to go by measurements than emotions lol. But somehow I feel like peri wouldn't be good for me. When I look at the before & after photos on transter.com they all look smaller than I do. Maybe it's psychological/dysphoria-related or something, but it just seems like you have to pretty much be flat to begin with for peri to work (even though if you go by the books they say A to small B, which is more where I'd fit in.)

So when is peri not effective?

With those measurements, you qualify for a peri. I understand the feeling that you're too big - I had those fears too, even those I repeatedly measured myself. The feeling went away when my surgeon told me I was a candidate. I think part of the problem is the angle that you see yourself vs. the angle you see everyone else. When you look down, you get a profile which makes them look bigger than when you look at them straight on as in a picture. Dysphoria can also play a huge part. You know how people with anorexia often think they look fat even when they are very skinny? The same thing can happen to trans people - we think like we look like the wrong sex more than we actually do.

Meaning I probably appear more feminine to others than I see myself?

See, this girl the other night was saying she was a C cup, and I couldn't believe it because it seems like we're about the same size, which made me start worrying about it even more. I find it funny that it seems like about 99.9% of girls are bigger than me yet with them I underestimate (like, "wow, you look more like an A to me than a C")

I just don't want to end up with this really strange contour and all like a lot of those photos I looked at -_-

No, meaning that you probably think you look more feminine to yourself than you do to anyone else.

My best advice unfortunately requires money, but if you really want to know, schedule a consultation with the best surgeon you can afford. Ask him/her if you are a candidate, what your chances for dogears are, and so on. And then trust his/her professional judgment.

You know how girls are about cup size. They tend to say they are bigger than they are.

Like Martin said, with the chest surgery, the best thing is to consult a surgeon or a couple of surgeons if you can, and let them tell you which one would be best. If you're an A, then peri would probably be fine, but only a surgeon could say for sure. I didn't look at a lot of peri pics because there was NO WAY that was going to work for me. I think a lot of the peri results I've seen that looked bad were with people that were close to the borderline for that surgery. There are probably some guys out there that were so concerned with not having the DI scars that maybe they opted for peri when they shouldn't. When you look at pics, you definitely want to take presurgery size and body type into account.

Ain't that the truth ! My exwife was always "C almost D" and I would think "honey, I know I've seen a lot of breasts and those are hardly C's much less D's lol."

It's like they all have some kind of dream where they all wanna be "busty babes".

In any case, Stranded has the best advice, get a doc.

<--Is in the process of looking.

lol, well actually I don't think she was overestimating because she we were talking about underwires and she said she has to have underwire because she's a C. So it made sense in context :P

Yeah I don't know I'm concerned more with areola size than overall cup size lol

I'm pretty sure surgeons can trim the areola during a peri, though I'm not 100% positive.

Yeah, ask whichever surgeon you are interested in using but to the best of my knowledge most surgeons will trim the areola to male proportions. When you are an A to a slight B, the extra skin after tissue is remove underneath can be pulled to cover what was trimed and sewn around the areola.

The original question of when is peri not effective;

When you are bigger then a B. To much skin is left to sag. Building up large pecks helps reduce some of the sag but often some is left.

For some the location of nipples would look unnatural. Look at the location of your areolas relative to the width of your chest. Male location is typically toward the outer third. If you are happy with where yours would be, then a peri would probably work.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Ngl, probably Sonic the Hedgehog, the Beatles, or the Monkees. Those are the three subjects I know the most about so I could drop hours of info on them.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.
