Well, until I can start on T, I've started doing things, Like lifting (I joined a gym), I've been taking B-vitamin supplaments, drinking creatine, consuming a lot of protein, and it's been like 2 months, and I've noticed some stuff. Like some stray chest hairs starting to grow, like regular sized ones growing at random xD and I have a bunch of black hairs on my stomach around my bellybutton... not too long of ones but still... and the hair on my legs and arms seem longer... and my periods, the last 2 have been lighter, and not lasting as long... and my muscles are getting a bit bigger... but that's obvious xD

So curiously... do you think that these kinds of life style changes could help us FTMs? Taking B-vitamin supplements, and eating lots of protein, and changing our diets. and working out(lifting)? (just conversational topic)

For those of us who can't really do much else for the time I think it's a great idea, been lifting some weights the last couple days and I'm SO sore...but also happy cause I've made progress, ya know? It's important for me to feel like I'm still progressing SOMEWHERE or else I'll get depressed. XD So...Vitamin B huh? What's that do? XD;;

You are both making me smile. Knowing where you are headed to, and BOTH of you liking where it is going to. A completely controlled dive off the gender cliff with NO regrets. Grining and SURE...is the T really that much of it (of course for the hair it is) but is it similar to someone that just needs an 'edge' taken off them and the T is doing that to you, because you were never meant to be where you are dysporically speaking? Don't 'prove yourselves' please...with handstands and stuff...we're all impressed Im sure :P I am certain you have both done that in all sorts of manners...don't go crazy male LOL. Weights will probably help you more than they ever did me...Git to 'er dudes...Kelly Ann

Well, it does lots of things. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B_vitamins I think I heard though that it helps with muscles, I'm not really sure, I've also heard that Vitamin C plays a part in something that has to do with the body making testosterone... Vitamin B though is supposed to help "convert food into energy" so yeah I think that's helpful if you're working out o.o...

I personally think in general it's good to take care of your body, if you're planning to go on T and stuff. So you can look SEXEEEY for the ladies. ;) I personally already look sexy topless xD

For me T is a bunch of things all in one. One of those being just an emotional step. It isn't all that important what I see in the mirror (Well it is, but -- I think you get it, yes? I've gotten to a point where I don't cringe when I see myself and that's awesome.) but it IS important to me that'll it'll make me feel more like a man on the inside. Like...fitting another piece together with the knowledge that now my physical insides are starting to match my emotional inside. Or...something like that. I'm not quite sure how to put it into words. Plus, you know, the hair, the body changes, the voice, and -- one of the things I'm looking forward to about T most -- No more random bleeding between the legs and such nonsense. I am certainly excited for that. But that's not just it, or even my main reason and...yeah.

As for going crazy male...I can't be completely sure yet, since I can't live full time yet and such, but I don't see myself being like...a macho man bodybuilder person. Ever. That just isn't me. However I WOULD like to be able to do 20 push ups without feeling like I'm gonna die. Plus I'm doing exercises to help build up my shoulders, both to make them bigger and because I have loose shoulder joints and they tend to partially dislocate...alot.

Besides...gotta get back in shape for marching band! Cause spinning flags is the most manly sport EVAR! =D

...That was a lie. XD But if I'm stronger I'll be better at rifle and sabre spinning too, which IS more manly than flags. Even if I love my flags and will always spin them. =3

You've done a lot more then me, MrAwesome! lol I'm a slacker over here. The only work outs(rather then the few workouts I've unlazy..ed...myself for) i've done is picking up and moving computers and parts daily. Hey, towers can be heavy when you got to carry them 4 blocks a day. I'm lucky I got LCD screen because those are way lighter then the big old clunker monitors.

Anyway, either way, its good to take care of yourself.

@ZackL

You're looking good, Zack - I peeked at your profile. :lol:

i remember reading an article about wwe wrestler triple h... ok, i just wanted to gaze at his magnificent bod... but the article did have him answering a question about putting on muscle mass.

he said that when he started weight training in his teens, he tried the high protein diets and could not gain enough mass. it wasn't until he met a body builder who would eat an entire pizza as part of his regimen to help him get ready. he said that sometimes you need extra food to put on the mass, but so long as you get the protein and stick to a workout regimen, it will all come together. i know very little about vitamins and supplements, but diet is key for weight and body control. chicken, rice and vegetables are great building block foods in my book.

i'm kind of on the opposite track these days (trying my little heart out to lose weight and muscle tone), but i am very proud of those who wish to weight train. muscle is always an attractive quality on a man... well, i think so anyway!...

Thanks Zabrak! =D

And, hm. I'll have to check into this more. Would be unfortunate if I ate something full of some vitamin or something that messed up my diabetes or something. But it seems like it could be a good thing to try, especialy since I'm already on vitamin supplements for me eating problem, so I doubt it'd effect anything too badly... =3

(yeah that auta make you wanna look)

Didn't work for me because you're not a girl. I only clicked on the link because I wanted to say that. :lol:

I certainly think it could help, I was hoping I still have a chance at growing a bit more, and wanted to do that stuff to promote height/bone growth, but supplements are expensive when you're in college...protein definitely has a close relationship with T. So I don't know much of the details but generally speaking..I say keep doing what you're doing :)

      This is fantastic, We're adding a Boxer to our family sometime this evening or tomorrow. His name is Parker. We'll be crate training him as well as introducing him to two cats that have never been around a dog.   Pictures to follow later,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

      I still don't understand how any queer people can vote for these people.  I'll just leave it at that.

      Thanks Kathy!    Some place where the peer pressure is to dress more feminine instead of less.  Imagine that. I haven't left the house in fem clothing since an outing to a local LGBT club over 15 years ago.   She's also pointed me to some support groups so that's next as well.     And for those who noticed, yes, I committed a rather egregious grammatical error in my post, but I couldn't figure out how to edit it.  That stuff bugs me to death. Geez Louise .

      Just more of the same.  Unfortunately, I'm coming to expect it.

      Everybody doesn't feel this way. As a AMAB child (in the 50's) I don't think I questioned my body, but I was quite fascinated with girl stuff.  When puberty hit I really wished I was a girl - but alas - I was stuck living as a guy.  As an adult I had pretty bad  homophobia, which was probably internalized transphobia, but I didn't really know what transgender was at the time.  And by then I was locked into a marriage and family. I lived like that for most of my life, and convinced myself (but not my wife) that I was happy.  When we were in our 60's, the marriage fell apart.  And I believe a large part of that was me resisting my feminine self.  When I no longer had to live up to being a man, I dared to take another peek inside, and my egg cracked big time. I still don't think I was "born in the wrong body."  Maybe it just needed a little tweaking. I think our "gender" is an internal thing.   I don't regret having lived so long trying to be a guy.  But if I could have transitioned as a child it would have been awesome.

      Said it is possibly ptsd and anxiety,wants a second opinion.

      @Adrianna DanielleSeeing two different therapist for separate issues really helped me deal with the each of them on different levels. I hope this works for you too.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

      I seem to remember the word "deplorables" being used not long ago.  Unfortunately so often appropriate.   Hugs,   Charlize

      It was not that long ago that black people were banned from the University of Mississippi.  Schools were segregated and the same excuse of protecting the women (or girls) of old miss.  Times and many feeling have changed with time and federal intervention.  Unfortunately politicians love to separate and divide to gain power.     Hugs,   Charlize

      I agree @Birdieto just "fit in", is what drove us to therapy. I'm not fitting in just to please someone with a closed mind. At least you know who your fair weather friends are now.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

      Yesterday in the lobby some of the residents were talking with me. One asked, "how come in all the TV commercials at the centre you don't appear in any of them?"   I explained that, "I'm an embarrassment to the centre and they don't know what to do with me." I get edited out!   Quite the differing options with the ladies at the table as some of them said, "that's discrimination", while others said, "they can see why."   Another lady said, "you would fair better if you cut your hair and went back to overalls, you should strive to fit in!"   Their opinions are as meaningful to me as rubbish. I did 45 years of trying to "fit in", and not doing that again. 😉
