Interesting title; I wasn't aware that we were at war with anyone. Anyway, this could have been a thoughtful article, and it strays that way in a couple of places, but when they trotted out Dr. McHugh again, I knew what was in store. There is more of the standard conflating of sex and gender, and more mention of our "lifestyle."

I'm glad the Catholic Church feels sorry for us, and wants to treat us with compassion. I'd rather they just left us alone.

I still work for the Catholic high school that I graduated from, I still haven't had any problems. Funny how that works out, isn't it?

It seems to be the hierarchy and media outlets such as the one linked to, that have the most problem with transfolk. On the local level the reaction is much more individualistic and supportive. It is the former to whom my comments were directed.

I think the part I bolded I what I agree with. Being pitied is almost as bad as being hated, I personally don't need nor want their pity the only thing I'd like is to be treated like a normal person.

Honestly, I don't think this Catholic World Report site is representative of the real views of most Catholics. I'm not Catholic, but most Catholics I know wouldn't spout this kind of crap or agree with it.

Shameful that they do this kind of thing in the name of decent people and make Catholicism look bad.
