Watching Television; Before and After

This could just as easily been posted in the HRT & Effects Forum, or the MtF Forum.

I pulled out a set of DVDs that's 12 years old - the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers." It is one of my favorites, and one I haven't seen in 5-6 years. The last time I watched it, there were parts that made me sad, and parts that made me cringe, and some that made me angry. But none of it made me cry.

Tonight, watching the real soldiers tell their stories at the beginning of the second hour, one of them got emotional. Damned if I didn't start weeping myself. I'm sure it will happen many times before I finish the set.

None of this is surprising. I weep often, sometimes with cause, sometimes not. But it does reaffirm that things are different now, and will forever be. I like being able to cry, whether its for a good reason or no reason at all. Watching aging soldiers weep at the memory of battle, and loss, is one hell of a good reason, don't you think?

Just this morning I came across the same set hidden in mothballs.

Mine must have been in hiding for the same length as yours and I couldn't remember why.

Now I know. I can't afford the tissues to watch it.

I cried at that one and am not even on HRT. It is very powerful and I think everyone should watch it.

Crying is one of the few things I miss and am glad that you have that gift now. I have no problem with men crying and have seen it happen with men I respect and admire but since T it just doesn't happen anymore.
