Hey guys and gals. I've been singing a lot and felt like posting my vids.

I hope they get better and better as I go. I've been using songs to mark my voice drop. If it drops any more I'm in trouble haha!

Right now I'm just trying to get used to it. It dropped off REAL FAST and I was almost not ready for it.

Well actually it dropped first then it dropped HARD. I found myself singing Live, Bush, Tool etc

Now I CANT.

I'm singing Metallica right now a lot because it's the only thing in my range. To add to that I can't handle a lot of the high notes.

So without further adeu

Mama Said, By Metallica.

Sorry the music is a little loud...

I've been using songs to mark how much my voice has changed too.

But, not to that kind of music. Not that I don't like Metallica, etc. I just listen to more alternative like Smash Mouth and country. I used to have a great tenor voice. Now I'm getting almost to the point that I can't match Tim McGraw anymore. I'm more in the Trace Adkins range.

I hope I don't go much lower. I'll be getting into the Sam Elliott "Beef. It's what's for dinner." range soon.

i am trying to sing along in my car in a more feminine manner. i actually have a good singing voice, but it is male, and that is so not what i want to be anymore...

so far, it sounds... well, fake. i can hit notes, but i cannot make them sound sweet or genuine. it just sounds weird, and the only thing i have learned i can pull off consistently at this point is a bee gees styled falsetto. which is kind of sort of impressive, but i am working on becoming a beautiful woman. and somehow, a pretty woman with long chestnut locks, nice legs and blue eyes singing like barry gibb just isn't adding up...

Felicia, try singing male country songs. Thats what I do when I need to get my voice up really high for high notes.

I know I know male songs, ack yuck.

But some guys have really high voices, using your great male singing voice and hitting those higher male notes may get your range up. It's stretching but not ripping vocal chords to death.

Another thing I've tried to get the higher voices when I was a trained soprano (busts a gut laughing at that one Sarah Briteman OMG LOLZ)

Was forcing myself hardcore to sing something I CANT and then going back to something less difficult after warming up a bit.

Yeah, your voice rocks. I just can't watch the whole vid because for some reason people singing to other songs makes me crack up laughing. I think its all their faces they make. AHAHAHA.

I'll be singing oldie soft songs when my voice drops more, though.

Yeah I'm recording right now again and my kids are all on me sticking their fingers in my mouth, I'm also really relaxed right now from meditating so I'm going all at it.

Will post soon and I'll be looking for some singing Zabrak! I can't wait to hear you!!!!

I have the problem of trying to get rid of a full Bass voice - I have range to a second Tenor and can make First Tenor without too much effort.

The problem lies in the fact that I can hit the notes for any vocal range I want all the way to Mezzo Soprano on a good day, but I still have a hard time loosing the chest resonance that makes me sound like Timothy B. Schmidt rather that Nora Jones!

I'm not the first in my family to have such a wide vocal range, so the female range is no big deal - it is the tone!

I watched that - wow your voice gets deep. Then you made a funny face with the high pitch voice LOL.

Your kids cute, by the way. S/he didn't seem to mind at all that you where singing.

I sing all the time. Don't have any videos, though. One of my favorites for stretching the high range is The Sound of Music. I usually do pretty well unless it's too early in the morning...

Ok, I've decided to make a little 'singing clip' of myself. LOL I dedicate this short clip uh....Sally! By the way in some parts my voice was cutting out so thats why you can't hear me lol.

Again, below 'download' theres a green arrow. Press that. You may have to wait a couple mins or so depending on how fast your computer connects to it.

Hmmm interesting.

I've been wondering how low my voice'll go, I sing all the time so I'm a tad worried about the turn out.

As is I'm in my school's all girl choir (Not looking forward to next concert >_<) and have the lowest voice -- I'm an alto II. Should be interesting when I finally get on T.

And wow TB -- you really CAN go low.

Oh, wait, that was worded badly. LOL. I ment I sang a song for Sally...Not that the Short people song has anything to do with her.

I understood that Zabrak,

Thank you so much.

You sounded great!

Randy Newman is a good choice, his range isn't that low but he definately sounds like a man. :D

For all of you FTMs do not pattern your voice after Neil Sedaka! :o

I had to see him singing before I believed that "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" wasn't recorded by a girl.

Love ya,

Sally

Yeaaaaa Zab!

Go for it man.

Hey I have a short person on my lap!

But I know you like em. My kids hear me singing almost all day and night if I'm not asleep or really occupied with something serious.

Both my kids sing too.

Yeah hells right I made funny faces at the high parts. They were like choking myself, I can't sing high.

I used to be able to sing the Diva'a song from fifth element. Yeah RIGHT.

Thanks guys :)

@TB

Thanks. I'm going to use any clips I make to compare to my final voice. Its good to keep a record as it slowly drops...will be intresting to hear them all in a row after I'm done dropping.

For some reason the sound wont play on it. :( I wanted to hear it again. I saw that clip once but along time ago. I'm at school so maybe I'll just have to play it on my own speakers at home after school.

Oh, yeah. I used to be able to sing along with "Breaking Up is Hard To Do". There is no way I could do it now. That's a bummer 'cause I've always liked that song.

I have a pretty wide range. When I was little I used to be the highest soprano in my class. I've gotten down into Sop 2 (wah! no more melody), but I can still get some of the higher range when I try really hard.... I've actually been able to cover Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap on a good day. Then again, I can reach wayyyy down into the lower ranges, but it gets less melodic and flatter. I can cover a jazzish version of Mr. Brightside pretty well. My dream is to join an all boys a cappella choir, but I know that dream is wayyyy far off.

I used to sing in a band and solo at several local clubs when I was in my teens. But that was MANY years and way too many cigarettes ago. I would like to get my voice back, but it's gonna take a lot of work!! I still have a lot of my old recordings, and I upped a couple on photobucket in case anyone wants to listen to em!! Here's the link to my album.

Hope y'all enjoy em!!

Love

I wish I could cope as well as others. I feel very defeated in that all of the consideration, and then treatment to transition, could all be wiped out by this time next year with the united effort by the R party to eradicate all that is transgender. I fear that the national election could turn out to our detriment, and we will face a national push to eradicate us. Tracking us down will not be that hard to do. Once they know who we are, forcing the legislation to reverse our name changes, gender marker changes, and other records, will not be that hard. We saw an example when the AG in Texas was data mining the driver licenses for those who had gender marker changes. Who will we appeal to? The Supreme R Court? We would have an easier time trying to convince a Russian court.    We need to get out and vote in November. There is not enough Ben & Jerry's to improve my outlook on all of this. In some ways it is a cruel thing in a way. In the early 1930s, Germany was working hard to hunt down the LGBTQ population and eradicate it. Now Germany has better protections there than we have in many of our own states. About 90 years ago, Germany was seeing the rise of their very own dictator...Now the US is on the verge...Oh never mind. What a difference 90 years makes...    History may repeat itself, but sometimes it shifts the focus a little...

I have the same problem as you, my face is the main reason why I get misgendered I'm pretty sure. I think it's mostly up to genetics how your face will look (T can help, but still genetics will determine how you end up). You can't change your facial structure really, you can get facial masculinization surgery but it's expensive so not an option for most unless you're rich lol.    Experimentally (I haven't done it but want to), you could see if any plastic surgeons around you will give you Kybella in your cheeks. It is an injection that removes fat, and is usually used underneath the chin/on the neck below the jawline, but some may use it off-label on the face. The only potential problem with this is that if your face would naturally thin out at an older age, it could thin out extra and make you look older (though I'm not certain on this). Another option is to get filler in your jaw/chin, which would make your jawline look more square and your face more masculine. I want jaw filler but I'm poor lol, it only lasts one year up to a few years depending on what kind you get, so it would have to be done every so often and can get expensive. I did get chin filler once, only 2 small vials so it didn't make that big of a difference. I would recommend going for the jaw if you can only choose 1, I wish I had done that.   Those are the only options I know of that will bring legitimate noticeable changes.

Thank you.    Trans men and trans women each have their own struggles for sure, but I agree, it can be a hard time to be a non-passing trans guy. There is no specific "man clothes" that only men wear. People could just think I'm butch (which sucks to think about, if people think I'm a lesbian when I'm a dude!!). I mean I would feel better if I got gendered correctly even if I don't fully pass, it would maybe raise my confidence to think maybe I do pass well lol! Instead I'm just reminded I don't.   Though I may just focus on the times I don't pass and ignore the times that I do. Because I rarely remember getting gendered correctly, but I hone in on the times that I don't.

Thank you, I'm glad to be here. :)   I have been in therapy for 9 years but still can't seem to accept myself. I think it has to do with growing up trans in a world that hates us, especially in the south. I mean I was discriminated against by adults and ostracized as a kid/teen due to being trans. My family is accepting, but the rest of the world is not. I realize now a lot of people are accepting (even unexpectedly, like my partner's conservative republican Trump-loving parents lol), but it feels like my brain is still in survival mode every time I exit the door. I am a very fearful person.   My body still may change over time, but it feels like I haven't met the same 'quota' (don't know the right word) that a majority of other trans guys have on far less time on T. Most trans guys pass easily 1-3yrs on T, I'm double that and still don't pass well except my voice.

Thank you. I am just used to seeing trans guys who pass at like... 6 months to 1 year, at the most 3 years. And I just don't meet the mark, all the way at 6 years. It is possible with time I will masculinize more, but it's frustrating when I'm "behind" and may never catch up. It threatens my mental health mostly, possibly my physical health if I'm visibly trans (though I don't ever go out alone).

Yeah, I am grieving the man I "should" have been. He will never exist, especially not in my youth. But I don't know how to healthily go about it instead of fixating on the life that could have been.

Sorry it took me a while to respond!    I would like to get to know you. :) I only have mental disabilities. Schizoaffective disorder, depression, and anxiety. The last two are severe and very treatment-resistant. I did have physical problems for some time, but it was caused by an antipsychotic medication (Invega). It basically crippled me, muscle weakness/fatigue, basically could barely walk (used mobility devices) and doctors were useless since they didn't suspect the medication I was on! I've finally ditched antipsychotics (hopefully for good, unless my symptoms come back). I usually don't share like this, especially in person, but hey, I'm anonymous. :)   I'm not expecting reciprocation at all btw, these things are personal. There is more to us than disabilities, so tell me about yourself if you still wanna talk!

@KymmieLWOW! He is absolutely horrible! Definitely one of the worst boss's.
    • KymmieL
Well the boss is at it again. They misplaced a work order thinking I was the last one who had it, yesterday morning. I know where it is. Last thing I did with it was put it back on the counter. He accused me a couple times of having it last and put it somewhere. Come to find out, the other boss (his wife) had taken it. she put the work order paper in the recycle box.   Has he apologized about the accusations. He!! no. I am waiting for hadies to get frost bit.   So that was my morning.  But it is finally warming up here. currently 63 and windy.   Hugs, Kymmie
