Why am I here at all

I feel so lost so broken

Shielding myself from everything

I'm not ready to let go yet

But a little pain would do

Not much mind you

Just any at all please

I'm sick of life

I'm unsure of death

I'm trapped in an endless cycle

two steps forward three back

I've come so far to lose it all

I am weak therefor I shall fall

Lips bitten just to hide the pain

In a group of hundreds

Yet all alone at once

The eyes stare down

Tell what I should be
How to dress talk walk

But I'm a mess up and cannot

I'm never gonna be good enough

Never gonna be who I need to be

I am nothing but a burden

Simply a waste of space

Just not ready to let go

But my grip on reality is loosening

I can feel your pain and sorrow in your poetry

Often in life we become what we make of ourselves

I could have written that poem some time ago. I found at some point that it was three steps forward and then only two back. A bit later it became only one back and i made progress. Things still can take me back but my attitude has changed today. I tend to see more to be grateful for. I hope you find the same. Perhaps a poem of gratitude for todays blessings, whatever they may be.
