Long Skirts

I have a huge range of skirts. I utterly love them! My favourites are the longer, floaty / swishy type that come just below the knee. These let me enjoy my passion for boots and shoes (I have said before: I am the Imelda Marcos of shoes and boots among us girls!). But I do tend to fit the choice of skirt to my mood and the day. Some days I just want a long, ankle-length floaty skirt that keeps my knees and legs warm. Other days I'll go for a short, sexy skirt that I can show off legs and boots. Judging by your replies, we are all much the same? But whatever - I can say one thing: I love skirts! I spend too much time buying them!

Hugs, Eve

Somehow I can't warm up to long skirts. Admittedly I haven't had one so my reluctance isn't based upon experience, just my innate sense that I won't look good in one.

Totally agree with the idea of long skirts. They can be very attractive and feminine looking. I have a good selection of all lengths and will wear whatever my mood (and the weather) dictates. I think most newer CDs tend to like shorter skirts and dresses, I know I did for a long time. After looking at magazines and paying close attention to fashions, I realized that women wear a variety of styles, and we as CDs wanting to be accepted, should also. Always dress for the occasion and you can't go wrong. Loving these forums and the chance to express my feeling and opinions. :P

I love long skirts and have quite a collection of them. I love wearing them with formal slips which I have been collecting for years from the thrift stores. I like them this time of the year the most, they keep my legs warm.

Jenni convinced me to try pants today, the high was -2f. I dunno, the experience was inconclusive, it'll be -15 in the morning, I'll try a skirt then and see if I still think it's adequate.

Make sure you wear a slip as well and remember heat does travel up so i've found that a long skirt with a slip is guide comfortable unless there is a big wind.

Santa is good! I now have many long skirts in my wardrobe. Some are really racy too. Giggle. They help my hips look fuller and I don't look nearly as chunky. Holiday Hug. JodyAnn

"Did you make the shot? Giggle. Hug. Jody"

LOL

Last time I played mini golf I lost the ball in the water trap multiple times that was several putting greens away! Back then I was a bit more tense / highly strung though before I started taking the anti androgen blockers. Maybe now that I am a bit calmer I might be able to keep the golf ball within the putting green? :)

On the original topic of this thread though, I also have recently taken a keen interest in long skirts but I have not figured out yet what top to wear that suits those of us that are extremely broad in the shoulders and skinny in the waist?

I have a few long skirts that I wear on rare occasions, I like short skirts best no contest. Even when its cold, knee socks go well with a short say two or three inch or more above the knee skirt. When out shopping and wearing a maybe to short skirt ,I have had a few disaproving frowns from ladies,Not as Oh! a man, but, like are you a man stealer? Kind of a compliment. They look pretty on someone else.

At THAT distance, she had BETTER have made the shot, otherwise, I would have to revoke her right to wear plaid! ;)

I must admit that with my median stance and youger outlook I only have fairly plain short skirts and dresses worn with jeans / leggings and occasionally tights. I do not own a long skirt but will have to find something suitable just to try. With my active lifestyle I would wonder about it getting in the way (from a feminine viewpoint I am a bit of a tomboy - even still occasionally climbing trees lol).

The temptation for me is to go out one day as totally feminine woman (whatever that is) but I would need to speak right as well as appear so - I would suspect it will be a while. I still feel firmly on the fence, male and female but I love pretty clothes (checkout Japanese Lolita fashion - at the moment really a no no but beautiful!)

Welcome aboard, @The Lake. One thing you can be confident in is that this forum is a safe place to share your thoughts. Have a good look around and chime in as you see fit.

Thank you! So do I! Although I'm proud of what it portrays, I don't wear it often because I think it could be taken as being a bit provocative. One part of me says look at me, I'm proud to be on the rainbow and the other part says pull your head in, you're asking for trouble.   I do have a more subtle pride t-shirt that I visibly wear more often, here is a representation of it: "Moon phase rainbow" V-Neck T-Shirt by secretmagic | Redbubble

Emotional stability is a personality trait that describes how calm, collected, and emotionally consistent someone is. It's the opposite of neuroticism, which is a personality trait that describes how much negative affect, emotional volatility, and mood fluctuation a person displays.

I'm lucky. I have both. For therapists, the Psychology Today is a good source, as is the resource section here at TP.  BOTH are soi vital.

Hello @The Lake, Welcome to our forum. I’m intrigued by your introduction and would enjoy reading more about your backstory. We all have very unique journeys and yours is not one I have come across often. As you become more comfortable with our community, maybe you could share more aout how your gender identity evolved, what difficulties you confronted and endured and what some of your successes were along the way. Also, do you see yourself involved in a future transition of roles, presentation, social, physical, or something else entirely? There is never any pressure to share a thing here. So feel free to share as little or as much as you like. We are a very open-minded nonjudgmental group who enjoy learning new things from our members.   Warmest Regards, Susan R🌷

Welcome @gizgizgizzie, It’s nice to have you in the fold. We are a very diverse group so you’ll fit in just fine. Right now, society at large is getting bombarded with misinformation, bait and switch tactics, propaganda and lies so it’s no wonder no one can get it right. I don’t come out and explain things about my gender identity as much these days but when I do it’s amazing how little these people know about our transgender community in 2024.   Thanks for sharing a little about yourself. I hope to learn more about you as you become more acclimated and active within our forum.   Warmest Regards, Susan R🌷
