Met today with a new Phd Psychologist

Today I took another step in my transition to becoming the woman that I have known was inside me. I've been seeing my Gender Therapist Joanne for over a year and a half and she has proven to be everything I could ever ask for in a Gender Therapist. I don't hesitate to recommend her.

Now that I am fully healed from Feminine Facial Surgery, I'm turning my sights toward GRS surgery. So I had my first meeting with Tim who is a fully licensed Doctor of Psychology. He and I had a good hour and connected. He feels that we should meet about 3 to 4 times so that he can learn about me and furnish me with a letter that will help me secure coverage from my health insurance for GRS and will satisfy WPATH 7. Not securing health insurance coverage is the only thing that will hold me back from not having GRS surgery. I borrowed $20,000.00 to pay for FFS and that is going to put a deep dent in my budget for the next 10 years. while I pay it off.

I also signed release forms so that he and my GT can share information about me. Their two letters along with a letter from my physician attesting to my Gender dysphoria will help convince my employer to reverse the institutional bias and discrimination that we trans people face everyday. I'm also going to seek endorsements from other doctors that I work with to intercede and write letters of support. It's a tough up hill battle to change a large institutional mind set, but it's something I hope to do someday. I'm blessed in knowing so many fine doctors that live and practice in Columbia where I live. I appreciate their support so very much. If I'm successful, I hope to help others work to effect change where they work, You have to be a respectful little itch at work, patient and persistent.

It's never too late to reach for the stars. Cruising out in the final frontier and enjoying the wild ride. Kathryn

Good luck! I am sure it will work out. Standing up for who you are and what you need is the only way we will get any further. I am beginning to see that a lot more clearly. Go get them!
