New, wondering if there is a way to delete old topics?

I feel odd having old topics sit. I'd like to go into discussion about old topics I've made without sounding repetitive or reawakening a dead topic. Is there a way to delete them?

Well as regular users we definitely can't. Moderators probably could but I think there would have to be a really good reason to particularly if it contains posts other than your own. Old topics do sometimes come up in posts to reinforce points in discussion or to signpost members who have missed them.

As I understand deletion is really rare (I have asked before.) Pretty much everything is archived. You can of course get confirmation from moderators on that.

As a Moderator one can delete a post. It is done very rarely and only if seemingly for a good reason. If there is a specific post that you are concerned about please PM any of the mods and they may either delete it or sometimes we discuss the issue and will PM back a reply. It is difficult to do for a reason. Each post is important to understanding a thread in a topic. Hope that helps.

I believe some of the best information comes from the old posts. Remember there is a wealth of knowledge here, and you learn from other peoples experiences. Just my two cents worth. Amber L.
