I feel terrible when I read news like that.

I hope her legal action is Successful.

My own personal experience with my Medical Group has been Excellent.

Even though my Medical insurance card still lists me as the terrible "M", they cover my Spiro and I have already had 5 free Mammograms.

Both my PCP and Endo recommended that I get yearly Mammograms in addition to clinical breast exams.

This is infuriating. If you have breasts and otherwise qualify, that should be it. At this point, it's not clear whether it's Planned Parenthood, the CDC, or the local clinic I should be furious at, though. Kudos to her for taking the fight forward!

My mom is a breast cancer survivor. She thinks it was the pill(1st gen birth control pill). Female HRT and (duh) having breasts, plus age, are all risk factors. Trans folk are all vulnerable and should get proper screening (for the guys, FTM top surgery is not the same as a radical double mastectomy and can leave vulnerable tissue in place).

Two big problems ---

1) Men can get breast cancer

2) I am post op transsexual, and last April right after my gender change hit my medical chart as being Female I was given a Mmgram by my HMO, it came back with suspicious tissue showing on my first time. It took a biopsy to be sure the tissue was benign. I was one scared girl for a few days.
