Transgendered Day of Remembrance 2013

This day is so very important. I needed to write something so here it is.

Transgendered Day Of Remembrance 2013

Today, I am grateful to be alive; especially after

all of the horror that I have suffered throughout

the course of my entire life. This will be my first
day of remembrance I will take part in as myself.

For far too long, Lily has been crippled inside her
cage but she finally stands tall and she no longer
hides in the face of adversity. Especially this day,

when we remember the family who we have lost.

I weep for each of our brothers and sisters who

are no longer with us. I will never be able to

hug them and get to know them for the beauty

which radiated from deeply within their skins.

These journeys were cut short by malice, hate,

and worst of all… ignorance. But they died for a

noble cause that all of us want to feel every day,

becoming true to themselves as they really are.

Each day is a better day for us, as acceptance is
becoming stronger for our one truth. And yet, our

internal and external fight continues as we look

back and remember those who never lost the fight.

To every brother and sister whom I will never meet,

I want you to know that we unconditionally love you

even when society ended your lives too soon. You
are all beautiful and you will always be in our hearts.

Lily Rose

Thank you Lily. For years i felt that the day of remberance was for the girls who were never able to acknowledge their true identities to the world, who only met at support groups in secret and then passed away unknown to the friends in support groups they had come to know. The day has grown in importance to me to include our trans community but i'll always feel for those girls who still meet in secret and never get to feel the life i've come to know.

Hugs,

Charlie

Thank you for sharing this, Lily. I have been observing TDOR since 2008 when I first knew about it (probably because that was the year I discovered Laura's) and the list never seems to get any shorter. I have, however, been grateful for discovering a community that pays its respects like this as there really is a sense of solidarity in seeing everybody pay their respects and stand up for what we believe in in one voice. It shocks me how many of these totally unnecessary deaths are concentrated in one or two particular areas of the world. There don't seem to be any deaths here, but I am not at all complacent about that.

I only hope that one year, in my lifetime, there won't be a TDOR list. May the souls of those who were needlessly murdered rest in peace.

You look nice! By contrast, I'm wearing sweats and haven't showered. My sole concession to today's activities have been removing my bra. I still feel pretty feminine though. My cat is sleeping in my lap. I have Big Cat Energy.   Hugs!

Today's combo.  I've been struggling to feel femminine these last few days so had to at least make an effort today

@MmindyThank you. I have been flying for almost 43 years but just never looked into the regulations for this. I am a commercial pilot but wasn’t sure if I could. I was kind of scared to look until now.

So much positivity the last 48 hours.  I'm cheering you all on.

That's great Tasha,   I follow a few of trans-women on YouTube.  One is a Pilot, the other two are Flight Attendants, they seem to have full support of their employers.   Best wishes, and good luck with the FAA Physical.   Mindy🐛🌈🦋

This is very good news Emily,   How is everything else going? I hope when you get back to work there's a lift crane on your service truck. I remember when I was a young mechanic, thinking it was a waste of space on the service truck. Later I would use it to set tires, and other things off or on the truck. "Work Smart Not Hard" all of a sudden had new meaning.   Hugs,   Mindy🐛🌈🦋

@Niamh funny you mention that but that’s exactly what my child suggested last night as far as adding Xi as his first name and bumping his original name to his middle name! But I think @Jackie C. is right, for the moment don’t need to change the official papers yet until later on. Give him time to make sure he likes that and wants to keep it. And it makes total sense to me that he would want a clean break. I’ll ponder this for a while and try to wrap my head around accepting it. The smile on his face if we do is enticing though. And you’re of course right that he’s going to have enough stress in his life, why get hung up on something that could so easily make him happy. ❤️ I need this forum to help put things in perspective for sure so thank you both tremendously!

A folded piece of toilet paper held in front of your genitals will keep you from making a mess. There's a little spray but it's actually easier to control than when, for example, you get up to urinate in the middle of the night and the stream from your penis initially forks because the universe has decided to punish you in particular tonight. So yeah, a little foresight and preparation and you're good to go.   After a couple of weeks, I just sat, urinated, cleaned myself then got on my way. Here we are a year later and there are no issues. I'd recommend keeping your Kegel muscles strong with regular exercise, but that's more for sexual health and to prevent leaks.   Hugs!

Good morning all. Been so busy last couple of days. I did do some investigating this morning and just found out that HRT will not effect me as far as my FAA flight medical. As long as I have no issues on it the FAA has no issues with me so I can keep on flying on HRT. 1 obstacle gone. Moving forward.🤗
