Hi Ladies,

Well it's been a few weeks since you've heard from me. So I thought an update was in order. Lately I have been able to dress as much as possible as Stacy out in public. I bought myself breast forms for Christmas and they fit wonderfully; I've been able to buy style clothing I like and enjoy to wear. I plan on updating my profile pic here once I am able to have my wig. Which should be soon I hope. So just a small but big update from me..

Stacy

I am Charlie. There are just two things I need to hopefully be able to dress all the time.. Those being tapes for my breast forms.. and my wig.. Then i just need to perfect my makeup and I should be good.

Thanks for the update, Stacy. I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you. I can tell you from personal experience how great it is to have a wig that you feel comfortable with and that looks natural. My wig is a part of me, and fits my personality. I hope you are as happy with yours.

HUGS

thanks everyone. Yes, it does feel pretty natural. I just need to work on walking w/o shoes on. noticed i walk differently with shoes than w/o them.

Just another part to this. I've been trying to be Stacy like all day everyday. Just need to get well 2 things. 1 is a recurring effect every 165 days if i do things right. the Recurring effect being breast form tapes. But again.. it's only recurring once every 165-170 days. Which is good. when in a bind. So I thought I'd update everyone again.

Well here's another update. I have my consultation meeting for HRT on Mach 5th. Though I do have some general questions for those who have fully transitioned.. Are you currently still taking Estrogen? Mom isn't as supportive as I originally thought. She has a hard time seeing me as woman.. She said she had three boys.. Not 2 boys and 1 girl. So going to have to work with her. But as for HRT i have my consult meeting on March 5th at 1:30 I think. Just unsure as to if there is a point in time when you stop taking Hormones all together.

Yes, hon. Everyone that I know who has had an orchie or GRS continues to take estrogen, although not Spiro or other T-blockers.

Here's a question.. One i'm really wondering what the best answer is...

When is it a good time to buy swimwear?

It's getting to be beach season and I haven't started HRT yet.. Hoping to within the next month. So when's a good time to be buying swimwear for the beach, as a close friend of mine wants me to tag along with her when she come to the local beach.

I have yet to start HRT.. Have been waiting for my therapist to fax over the letter of recommendation to my HRT doctor.. My psychiatrist and regular doctor got their paperwork to my HRT doctor in Madison. I find out more on Wednesday.

Just a quick update. I finally told my Bio dad i'm transitioning and he said he couldn't see it in me. but would try. he also mentioned that moving to Madison would be a good idea as the community is more open than the one i currently live in. Which is nothing I haven't considered but after calling around to apartment complexes i can afford, they all had between a 2-5 yr wait list. So I'm pretty much stuck in the town i'm in. Dad was the last person I wanted to tell as his support for me is kind of key. But I could have done without the reminder that my town isn't the best place to be for being transgendered. He also said that after raising two girls he didnt' see in me what he sees in them. Which in all reality he wouldn't, because those are things I have to learn to do so it will take some time.

On a better note, I'm more than likely moving into my own place this Christmas so I can finally be myself and have a place for myself. So I'll keep everyone updated as time goes on.

As a former resident of Wisconsin where I was born and raised, La Crosse is semi liberal, but I agree with your dad Madison Wisconsin is certainly the most liberal in Wisconsin. Minneapolis is equally as liberal as Madison Wis. Go somewhere you aren't known and just be yourself. College towns are easier to live in as young people are more accepting. Good luck on the rest of your life. Kathy

That is exciting! Hopefully you could leave with a prescription. Have you had a baseline blood test yet? Your doctor may want that and calling the office may save you a bit more waiting time.

Hugs,

Charlize

WOW! Did she give a reason at least? It's not like it takes up that much space.
    • awkward-yet-sweet
Yeah, it would be awesome to have something new, and it would fit the space pretty well.  We have kitchen counters big enough to process whole deer, goats, large amounts of vegetables, etc.   Unfortunately for me, I couldn't even convince our "den queen" to let me have counter space in our downstairs kitchenette for a Keurig.  🙄

I think the biggest mental block to acceptance is the language that keeps us othered and on the fringes, rather than woven deeply into society. But I also think that's changing fairly rapidly. My youngest is well into their young adult genre novels phase and I'm impressed (and kind of amazed) at how many of their mainstream traditionally published novels have LGBTQ+ themes woven in. That child is 12, and I suspect that as the kids who are in middle school along with them grow up, they're just going to expect and demand better than we've done as their parents. They've seen it in the fiction they read and have every expectation that it will be part of the life they live.

Heck they took off three grand on that one. That is massive! Then again your nest isn't small either so I guess would definitely come in handy.

Congrats on T <3   The height problem I think is an issue for a lot of trans guys, unfortunately. I know more tall cis women than short cis men, so it especially stands out to me whenever I'm in a room. I'm hoping for your voice to drop soon, good luck! (I've heard it feels a little bit like a cold? If that's true, hope it'll feel better quickly and that it's worth it!)

Hi Raine, my obstacles are that I'm 5"2 and always will be at the age of 34. I have size 5 feet, so it's difficult to find shoes, not alot of options, have to go to the teen boy bit. My voice was an issue, but T is starting to help me stay in the lower range of my fem voice, and I'm hoping it will drop soon.

I just like how our posts complimented each other.  Your point about publicity of pride events and that culture seemed to be spot on.  My culture and mindset is so different that I'm barely aware that things like that are going on.  I don't watch news and I'm very much into professional life and life-long learning.  There are all kinds of cultures out there.  Thanks for sharing your insights.

Here, the public image of LGBTQ+ is formed from the limited contact of the Pride Parade, which seems to always attract a few people who are into flamboyant sensationalism and inappropriate conduct, so there are arrests for lewd conduct, indecent exposure and public disorder.  Those are the people the news media always covers at the parade, as if everyone LGBTQ+ was like that.  The whole parade thing backfires, in my opinion.    Sometimes these types show up at protests as well, and of course, that is what the news media picks up on.    Some people need to be taken quietly aside and told they are not helping.   I don't know if that is the biggest block, but it is there.  Lousy marketing,

One of my roommates bought cheese and pasta and asked if I would make mac & cheese.  I walked to the store and bought 4 cups of milk and then used the preppykitchen.com baked mac and cheese recipe that works so well.  Melting a stick of butter and whisking in 1/2 cup of flour and then adding the milk.  Breadcrumbs on top.  It's amazing out of the oven, but just edible when it is cold in the fridge.  It's all gone this morning and that made me happy.

We made a mega batch of curried sausages today, with enough leftovers to go to others, and into our freezer for us.    Dished up with mashed potato and peas.
