Cheap Brands Of Tights/ Pantyhose

I was wondering if any of you girls have had good experiences with buying the more cheaper brands of tights. When I started buying tights as twenty one year old I always used to buy the best Pretty Polly and Aristoc and St Michael. However in recent years I have had to keep a tight reign on my money. As a result most of my tights are bought in Peacocks and Wilco. Most of the tights in Peacocks are only about three or four pound. I buy a lot of multipacks especially flesh coloured shades like honey and nude. Wilco tights are even cheaper you can can get a three pair pack for less than a pound.

Having said all that it will be nice when I have a bit of money again and can indulge in some quality tights. I browsing at the breathtaking range on the Mytights.com. It is like being a kid in a sweet shop.

I wear pantyhose or knee-high nylons nearly every day to work. And, here, Walmart has the Leggs brand for around half of the other stores. It's been a while - can't remember exactly - pantyhose were about $6 for a box of three, the knee-highs were about $7 for a box of 10 pairs.

Leggs seem to be a good quality brand, I have bought other brands that were just a bit less expensive and they didn't last at all. I've been getting a lot of uses out of the ones I have now.

Here in the land where a pound is nearly two bucks, L'Eggs, Hanes, Fruit Of The Loom and Just My Size are the brands that are lowest on the pocket change scale. I just wear the nude or suntan colors for panty-hose, and most of my stuff is the ones where I can do one garment per leg, ie: thigh-highs, knee highs or ankle highs. Getting six pairs is closer to 18 to 20 pair if you stretch the arithmetic, because if you ladder one of the pair you have more to match the good one with. I am beyond the sexy look and go through a 6 pair pack about every 60 days. Being full time does put a different take on them.

I tried cheap supermarket tights for a while and loved them. However, I am now a huge fan of hold-up stockings and I buy 60 denier black (or coloured) regularly on E-bay from 'mjs_team', who I am happy to recommend.

As for cheapo tights, I have been happy to buy Morrisons (the supermarket) own brands and they've lasted a few wears but are not exactly robust. However, they are ludicrously cheap at £2.99 for a box of three and perfectly comfortable to wear. Oddly I don't feel comfortable in lighter, more 'daring' stockings. I prefer the more solid 60 denier. But I do not splash out much money on them.

So, I remain a dedicated hold-ups girl. Hold-ups are amazingly comfortable and being 60 denier they look like socks on the feet, so I always underdress with them. I suggest you give them a go! Sadly, come summer they are too hot. But for winter you can't do better! Especially with a pair of Hush Puppy mid-calf ruched leather boots! I wash mine on a regular machine wash with a dollop of disinfectant, so as to cleanse the silicone hold-up bands thoroughly. This seems to do the trick and they have always been easy to wear.
