Schroedinger's rapist and pre-op trans women

On another forum, a poster has convinced me, mad me see the light, that just like cis men, pre-op trans women must be considered as Schroedinger's rapist, meaning that we should be placed in men's facilities, isolated if need be. Our dignity is not as important as the safety of others, so we should not try to override arguments for safety with arguments for dignity.

When I was thrice hospitalized after going full-time as a woman and placed with the men, but given my own room, the administrators made the right decision. Dignity < safety. There were no issues of safety that I encountered during my placement with the men (except being repeatedly harassed by a gay guy during the second and third hospitalizations who thought I was just another really really gay guy, but I was able to handle it).

When I was living with a blind woman back in April of last year to try to save money, I kept asking myself, "If I were dangerous, would this woman be safe in this space with me?" The answer kept being no, which filled me with tension and anxiety. I also saw the presence of a non-relative in the place that was my home (even though it was the non-relative that owned it) as being intrusive, so I am back to living on my own.

You're right in a way, when you add in the fact women rape too, so if it's the case that men are 'schroedinger's rapists' so are women, and so are trans men and so are trans women. So yes you're right in a way that even as a trans woman you could be classed also as 'schroedinger's rapists' because everyone is. So you're right and your wrong because you say "pre-op trans women" when it doesn't matter where one is surgery wise, because everyone is.

I don't know. The risk may be higher with pre-op trans woman, because I have been reading a disproportionate number of stories on that (considering our population size).

That Twitter exec certainly comes to mind.

Perhaps because people willing to acknowledge rape are usually more willing to acknowledge it when someone with a penis [i'm not sure what the language filter will do to that word, if anything, but I hope that statement's still intelligible] does it and until recently most legal definitions of rape exclusively acknowledged people being raped by male-assigned people who had that particular body part.

And really if you're a hazard to people, you're a hazard because you're a hazard, not because of the groups you fall into.

I am sure there are some advocates out there who believes, regardless of surgery status, that trans women are functionally incapable of rape and laws should be altered to prevent such a discriminatory accusation against trans women. Only makes sense given the often expressed assertion that such things never happen.

I suspect that trans women, at lest among those who are transitioning, been on hormones an extended period are probably less likely to commit a sexual assault.

However, folks transitioning only make a small part of all who identify as transgender, and with the legal standard as pushed by advocates for gender recognition, that they simply identify as female, it seems things are bound to get muddy.

Now what should be the standard for a trans woman to be held in a women's facility? Simply the claimed self identification? Why house men and women separately in the first place?

"Exstatic" is an adjective that means feeling great rapture or delight. For example, "His wife gave birth to their first child, and he was ecstatic about it". Synonyms of "ecstatic" include rapturous, entranced, enthusiastic, and frenzied.

Absolutely. Being able to encourage, to help, others is so empowering. I've been helped by so many people over the years, I love being able to pay it forward.

Good morning, everyone!!   A busy day ahead for me - need to cut the grass and then pick up the clippings. The grass grows so quickly this time of year. I cut almost 7 acres so that will take up most of my day. At least I can get some sun on my legs and arms!!   Time for another cup of coffee as I catch up here.   Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given.

I started shaving my legs years ago - I started getting an occasional mild contact rash on my shins. That became my excuse to shave them for both me and my wife. Over time, the rash didn't expand...but my shaving did. Full legs....groin......chest......and finally my arms. Keeping the rash at bay was my excuse until I came out to my wife. Now I typically do a full shave on Sunday mornings. The hair is lighter but I just feel better with it gone - it helps with the dysphoria and dysmorphia. I will also typically do a chest touch-up mid week since I notice the growth more there.   I wish someone would invent a pill that would stop hair growth everywhere except on your head.

Good morning.   im not sure where the time went.  I had a decent nights sleep,  didn’t  tell Alexa to let me sleep another 5 minutes,  I didn’t do anything extra but it’s almost time to leave and I just got here.  Definitely only a one cup morning.    I have the overhead console out of the Ford. It needed some repairs with toothpicks and glue.  Been sitting all night t for the glue to harden. I’m always to impatient with glue but not this time.  I want it to hold. Ok the next owner won’t be able to change the lightbulbs however in my defense, the are led so they will likely still work when the car goes to the salvage yard.   gotta go. Not as much on my plate at work today but it’s always busy.   Willow

Yes, my programmer friends and I think that antivirus software is a virus.  It's constantly searching your system and slowing it down.  If you install your own OS and software on your machine, and you make backups of your personal files, then you can recover from viruses in an hour or two.  My computer is 10+ years old and is working as good as the first day I had it.   As long as my computer is doing what I want it to do, I don't care if someone is spying on my system.

If you get a ticket, always say not guilty and go to court. Much of the time, the officer will not show up, and often the district attorney or the judge will not want to take the time. They ticket harvest because most people just agree to the fine and send them a check by mail.   If you are not a commercial driver, Most states also have a ticket forgiveness program. You take a little easy Driver's Ed Course, and it doesn't go on your record or increase your insurance prices. Explore your options!
