TV occasionally does an OK job with adult transwomen and transboys but it does a horrible job at portraying transgirls and adult transmen. OK, fine, make the teenage boy emo or whatever but why are all of the transmen on TV so irritatingly whiny and average? There's never a transguy on TV who's very accomplished or self-confident, and I find that bloody irritating! And transgirls are just absent entirely; I think that's because it would do two things: 1) suddenly remove the notion that some in society have of transwomen being hypersexual somehow (where the heck does that even come from!?) and 2) remind people that at some point, these women might have actually been living as boys (Looord, have mercy! *starts fanning self while collapsed on my front porch*). You know what would make me happy? To have a trans Katniss Everdeen and a trans Sam Seaborn. For once, let the transgirl be there and adorable and kick-butt, and let the transman be some good-looking, prep-school politician. This, would make me happy. I am not hard to please!
