How many of our member here are Vets? Lots! It is a pity that the military can not get itself beyond the fears and phobias of the 1950s and before. He was an ideal soldier as i read the article due for promotion. What a pity.

This battle will be won, eventually, just as it has for gays and lesbians. But as it is with us and society in general, it will be an uphill and lengthy battle. We are just "too different" for many to accept, but I firmly believe that will change.

Ooooeah to that young man. Too bad we can't just see the records of these men and women and say say New Gender who cares just keep up the good work.

Hopefully, with Kristen Beck former US Navy Seal coming out, she will shed some pressure on Congress to do away with discriminating against trans service members.

There are a lot of trans and IS military folks. It should never make a difference what your gender is or is not, just as long as you are willing to defend your country. THe GLB threw the T under the bus. Now, it is time for the GLB to rescue the T from under the bus.

Yes, I think we will win the bbattle. Hopefully long before all valuable military trans have been thrown out of the service. And, even though, " we are too different" once folks see who and what we are they ususally accept us and move on. Just have to get more trans awareness before Congress and the military brass. But, we have to get this area under control meaning that no one can be tossed out of the service for being trans.

I feel so sad for Landon, doing his best, only to be tossed! It is that way for far too many, and one day, the military will have to change.

Yes, this is sad. Seems he's been an exemplary seaman. I would have been proud to serve with him.

Now, he needy to go find the Civil job (same career field) that pays ten times what he was making in the Navy and work to initiate policy that will set the standards for year for come!!
