He, Not She

He, not She

You mourn for him

You want to see

Someone that is

He, not She

The man you mourn

I wasn't then

Though you say

That he's the one

I seemed to be

Nonetheless

You're missing not

Who I was, but

A shallow gloss

Of the one

I always was

So now because

You cannot see

I miss you though

You're here with me

Forget about

The "he" and "she"!

I'm still here!

I didn't leave!

I love you still

You still love me

This is a pointless tragedy

I know you think

I killed "him" off

I struck "him" down

But it's the other way around

'cause he's the one was killing me

You are loved as much

As ever, babe

I wish so much

That you could see

That regardless of

That "he" or "she"

I AM still me

I am still ME!

I believe that the appropriate phrase is, "There is none so blind as he who will not see."

Very nice poem,

hugs to you donna jean best of luck to you and your wife.

we were 13 years married/18 years together but it's an impossible situation now. there's so much more than just my transition though. she misses what she remembers as me so much, but I didn't meet her needs even before, or vice versa... the hard part is that she mourns me even though I'm right here in front of her and it's just tearing me into pieces. starting to really look forward to going back to philly, I do one week here and two weeks there and it's lucky because I don't think I can take much more of this; I was sooo looking forward to coming home, one of our dogs just died a couple weeks back and I couldn't come home to be with her to share our grief, but that made it so we ended up dealing with it seperately and that is adding to everything this week and she's so sad and i just had a major dysphoric episode yesterday. it's getting where i can hardly make myself move

:'^(

*sigh* running low on words (yes, that was low on words :P)

hugs to you too sally
