A moment from today

I had a session with a therapist today. It was our first meeting. Last week she described herself over the phone as petit. In asking how she could identify me out of the crowd of other waiting patients, I said, "androgynous looking with brown hair". I know, not much help description wise, but that is how I see it. So waiting in reception at the medical clinic and she comes out and glances around. Then turns to reception to see if I had checked in. Again she looks around for me and called my name out generally in a hope for a responder. I stood up and we introduced ourselves and went to her office. She then tells me that she thought someone androgynous stands out as such(not a negative), but that all she saw was a few obvious men and a Ciswoman(referring to me). Which I went on about a good reason to talk and have someone to bounce the battle of self criticism off of. She was adorable and we ended up chit chatting long past the regulated hour. We meet again next Wed. I am fighting my evil self critic as I DO know that I have been seen only as a woman for some time now. I need to stop looking at the remnants I know are old me and move forward. I suffer from ultimate mail fail lol.

I'd say congrats, especially if you're pre-hrt. Getting over that inner self doubt can be difficult tho.

Just heading to 15 months HRT. She is a reg. therapist outside if my usually expensive GT. just someone to bounce things off and hel me fight against my own harsh criticism and to help me put to rest the way I still focus on the old male me. Was post negative? Wasn't supposed to be, thought I was highlighting a good day and a fine talk with a person of support. I try not to see male me and I know that I am seen as only woman but have a hard time getting my head past my own harsh view. I am a hot sexy lady, touch me and feel the sizzle haha...

The inner doubt will pass. Self criticism can paralyze us but it certainly seems your getting the support you need.

If we have an earthquake here and the mirror I am looking into at that time cracks, I will blame my face and not the EQ for the mirror damage!! That is me, even after 3.5 years of full time. I meant that your mail fail was a TERRIFIC thing indeed!
