They continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

They have very poor leadership. Good political thinking would be to welcome back the Guard and dump Manning. I will never support Manning.

The organizers had their own agenda and unfortunately it did not include supporting Transgender Veterans. There was a petition written and submitted to the organizers several months before the event to have Chelsea Manning removed and Mia Macy nominated in her place as many of us felt that a positive Transgender Veteran role model would be more appropriate than a convicted traitor. Many people wanted to nominate Kristen Beck also but she declined as her schedule was full and she also backed Mia's nomination.

The organizers chose to completely ignore us and did not even bother to give us the courtesy of a reply to justify their decision. It really is a great shame that certain elements of of the LGB community still continue to use us for political sensationalism instead of rallying and supporting us.

Their actions banning the National Guard was absolutely disgusting.

If there two things I have learned in the last five years, its that this community rarely speaks with one voice, and we don't always do the right thing. In other words, we're just as screwed up as the rest of the world, most of the time. Hooray for us.
