So it's "his" church. That says a lot.

Perhaps a very strong dose of humility is in order. It's God's church, and it's your church and it's the church of anyone else who chooses to support it. Apparently, he has a warped and very self-centered view of his role in what's going on there.

He may serve the church as a worship leader, but with an attitude like that, I question his credentials even to lead a congregation. His mind's not in the right place.

I am sorry you had to endure that attack on your humanity. I'm sure it hurts you deeply as i know that is how i would feel. This person has his mind in a place you will not be able to change so try to simply leave it behind. In the past he may have found a home with the priests in the inquisition. I just don't see much kindness, tolerance or love coming from a "man of god". Hopefully you can leave that church and move on to a world where you can find acceptance. It exists in so many places but unfortunately hate sometimes lives where it should not. Leave it behind to fester. You can change your world but not his. In the meantime please know that i'm glad you have joined us here at Laura's.

Hugs and a shoulder,

Charlize

Was this related to being trans or did showing up in fur (don't know if you go in public like that) or knowledge of your interest in fursuiting come into play?

In any case out of like, furries are people too.

I'm sorry that this happened to you, hon. You've had several very negative experiences in a short period of time. Do you have some idea why people are reacting to you in such a manner? These incidents can't be just random acts of unkindness. Is there more you can tell us about what is going on in your life?

I was not in fur I was just there and I live in a very small very conservative community where news spreads fast like just a few years ago there was a girl who came out to her friends then dead in a month

I find it hard to believe that a pastor would, right out of the blue, tell someone to leave and never come back. I think there's a lot going on that you're not telling us. Would you care to enlighten us?

Still it might be worth looking at your presentation and body language. I live in what many see as the most conservative part of the country and a county infamous for conservatism even there (Am in fact the only trans person ever to come out in this whole area) yet in 3 1/2 years of openly transitioning and living as myself I have never been faced with even one of the many incidents you have faced in a couple of weeks here. I have even been embraced and welcomed by my church and my Southern Baptist neighbors and friends also accept me. They may not understand or believe as I do but they accept my right to make my choices.

Things can and do happen sometimes but they are actually the rare exception rather than the norm with us - unless we are somehow provoking the incident even unintentionally. Which can be dangerous and is worth carefully examining to prevent further incidents.

Would you be so kind as to give us the name of the church you were banned from?

I'm sorry that this happened to you. How did your dad react to that comment? Personally, I would feel insulted by this pastor's comment.

I too was asked not to attend my church. I understood and knew it was going to happen so I just accepted this. Everyone in the congregation has decided not to contact me. It is ironic to me that I am still aspiring towards God. We are all sinners, we are not capable of judging others and judgment rests with God alone. This action of keeping us from church is a sin. Jesus said to the Pharoses at the market that the black letter of the law cannot be used to determine who can and who cannot come to God. We all sin. When considering my transgenderism, I could possibly understand why it could be considered an abomination, in my view, lying everyday to everyone I know is even a larger abomination. There is no straightforward way to consider sin. I know who I am, and I am sure God could see the suffering that I have endured. God is greatly compassionate, he sent his son to tell everyone to love, support, and respect everyone. I am confident that our current leaders of religion will come to understand that their position of judgment and hate, no matter how holy they feel it is, is a sin. I take from this that I will not hold hate in my heart, and I will try to approach every situation with love and compassion.

I would like to know where this Pastor gets off saying,"You and your Dad are not allowed in HIS church". I was always told it was GOD'S HOUSE, and all are welcome to come and pray. I'm not a violent person, but this Pastor needs a lesson behind the barn. It is YOUR CHURCH, YOUR DAD'S and anybody who feels the NEED TO SPEAK TO GOD. GOD BLESS YOU

I believe the prayer on the bumper sticker is appropriate: Jesus, save us from your " followers."

Please consider joining us, even if it's just for a few minutes to see what the meetings are like. I've learned so much, had so much fun and gained confidence in myself just by being a part of this amazing group of people. It's a low key, no pressure, non-judgmental chance to just be among people who are supportive, understanding and affirming of each other.    I'm travelling out of state and still planning on dropping in for awhile.    Come see what it's like!!

Thank you, Susan!! It was such an amazing experience for me. I can't remember if I even talked about it on a Zoom meeting.   Here is the link to the post I made about it. And, again, thank you for helping to give me the courage to do it.

Good morning coffees   This probably doesn’t exactly apply to me because you wouldn’t have found a more shy and conservative person than me.  I was perhaps less shy before my sister started complaining about me doing things that were hers to do. And I would become embarrassed and that was the end of that.   upstairs unit got their typical weekend visitors in the middle of the night last night.  They woke me up.  They have little consideration for being in a condo community and the neighbors being in such close proximity.   @awkward-yet-sweet , how goes the job with your husband’s boss?  I don’t recall you saying much about it this week, but I could have missed a post along the way.  If I recall you were supposed to meet with him last Monday.   @KymmieL I hope you are feeling better.     Yes, I find it to be wrong that just because a car part says Ford or Chevrolet on the box that same part with Lincoln or Cadillac on the box cost a lot.more.  I know there are differences in the upscale brands such as the engine and drivetrain in the Caddy and of course the interior fit and finish.  But it’s the same body with things crammed in the same way under the hood.     well, time to finish my coffee, fix my hair and made my way across the street to work.    willow

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷
