Nice To Wear A Pair Of Slacks For A Change

I found two pairs of my wife's slacks in the my wardrobe a few months back. My wife hasn't used the closet for years so I have taken it over it's wear I hide all my femme stuff.. I didn't try the trousers on for a while just in case they didn't fit. I tried one on a few months back and it fits perfectly. I have a twenty seven inch leg which causes me a lot of problems when buying men's trousers in store, most shops do not cater for my leg size. I buy all my drab pants from specialist male order dealers. I was pleasantly surprised to that my wife's pants fitted me. I feel a bit guilty for wearing her stuff but as the pants are a few years old, I am sue she doesn't mind. As most of you know I mostly like skirts and dresses and absolutely adore tights. However, I must admit that I enjoyed wearing femme pants on Friday. The combination of my favourite green blouse and black slacks and some low heels shoes was not too bad at all.

I did experiment with some femme trousers on a buying spree in the Dorothy Perkins store in the uk a few years back, again they fitted me perfectly but I foolishly purged them along with a whole load of other clothes and pantyhose.

If I had been lucky enough to be a G.G. I would definitely wear skirts and dresses to the office but pants now and again would be fun to wear.

Actually I have Carolyn Marie to thank for reigniting my interest in Womens slacks. Carolyn suggested that I try a pants suit for a change with some strappy shoes. I thought that was a great tip. Next time I go shopping for girls stuff I will be purchasing a pants suit. I had a lot of fun on Friday and felt so girly in pants must give it another try.

LOL! I'm glad you liked my advice, RB. I liked wearing dresses to work on occasion, but where I worked, it kind of set me apart, being a pretty casual place.

Slacks and pant suits can be very elegant and sophisticated, and I've even seen them worn at parties and such. There are sooo many styles and colors and combinations. I have a short gray blazer I wore with a white blouse and black slacks, and used to get many compliments. I also had a purplish pant suit with a jacket that had a collar that could be worn in the usual style or turned up like a Nehru style.

I'm glad you had fun, hon, and wish you luck with future purchases. :)

Wow! Carolyn the two suits you mentioned sound wonderful, especially the short gray blazer white blouse and black slacks. I am not surprised you had such lovely compliments hope that happens to me one day. What you have described is very much my sort of style. I love black whether it's in a pair of pants a dress or a pair of tights. Thanks for your good wishes. I did have a great time on Friday and I too look forward to more purchases. Hopefully in store as that is the way I love to shop.

Love

I usually wear skirts but today was in jeans as i had to work in some briars on the farm. Slacks do feel good at times and certainly are fashionable now but i must admit to preferring skirts. Just an old fashioned girl i guess.

It depends on my mood. I don't like pants that remind me too much of my male clothes. Slim leg are good, sometimes even skinny. My favourite is a pair of palazzo pants - they are a great light material, swoosh around, feel good, and look great with a pair of heels.

Hugs.

Are you like me and find ladies clothes actually fit *better* than mens? Virtually all the blouses and ladies trousers (ahem, a lot of leather jeans) fit me really well. Mens wear does not. Like you I have a 27.5 inch leg and it is the devil trying to buy trousers to fit - I buy mine off E-bay these days, But if I buy a blouse or skirt, or womens trousers (27.5 much more easy to find) - they fit perfectly!

I have a wonderfully nutty black velour jacket and trouser suit that is warm and swishy to wear - I adore it!

Hi Eve. Apart from trousers the only other men' clothes I have trouble with are jackets. Funnily enough whenever I have bought ladies jackets they fit me perfectly. I buy all my femme clothes in store and very rarely have trouble with stuff fitting me. I am a size 16 in skirts and dresses most of them fit me perfectly apart from a plum coloured dress that I bought in New Look last year which is far too tight for me.

Thanks Davie! And don’t worry, I didn’t take it that way. It’s just such a big topic I can only hope to tackle it one bit at a time.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.
