Am at my in laws and there is alcohol around i feel tempted

unsure what to do i was offered a drink my mother in laws husband drinks beer and when she ask i had some coke but i was thinking about drinking then

am sitting in the kitchen ( the only place i can use the lap top as there is no other tables )there is drink all over the place and am really struggling

Am in the middle of nowhere ...dont know what to do

If you can, please try and leave. If that isn't possible, you are within your rights to tell whoever is running the party or gathering that all the alcohol is making it extremely hard for you to keep from drinking, and drinking is the last thing you need to be doing. If the party hosts have any sense or decency, they will remove it. But best if you can remove yourself from there and be where you are safe.

See if you can get outside the house or go over to Chat would be one thought. If your husband is there with you, see if he can come keep you company for a bit. Just hand holding will help you greatly.

Next, assertively, but not angrily, tell the people offering you drinks that they interfere with medications you take, and that it will harm you badly. Do not shout this to them, but say it in a moderate voice, but with certainty and power in your tone. "I cannot drink alcohol, or it will badly harm me in ways it will not harm you!!!" I have to do this on occasion, and it works very well. If the other party starts to shout, your voice gets lower in volume, that actually gives you more power over them because you seem more in charge of the situation.

Its tough I know, but show strength in saying "no, get that stuff away from me."

I have told those who are persistent in pushing drugs or alcohol towards me that i have an allergy. It is true. If i drink or use i will die from the effects. It will be that first one that kills me by letting me drink more. If nothing else i'll wake up behind bars.
