Hey all, Kate here. I tried posting this thread before but it must have went weird. I posted to ask if anyone knows a good exercise and diet plan for a more feminine body?.

Whatever you do, don't do any exercises that will put any muscles on your arms. I would avoid exercises like the plague. No muscles means if you want to play sports you cannot play well. The only time I ever regretted not having any muscles was when my Mom fell and I could not pick her up.

I run 6k (about to up it to 10) 4 or 5 times a week. It's great for legs, butt, thighs and all that. It's fantastic for weight control. But I'm still pretty flabby waist up. I think the solution lies in 'core strengthening'. Not trying for a 6 pack but firming up. So pilates I'm thinking. Some yoga, serious stretching... the kind of yoga that makes you break a sweat. :) That's the direction I'm heading in anyway.

Oh ya... good, long, climbing hikes work just about everything.

Hi, This may fly in the face of conventional wisdom and I will qualify it somewhat. I have been slim build all my life, but I do 40 x 25m lengths in the swimming pool twice a week. I also put effort into the swim rather than sedate style. I've been on hormones about a year and have found that exercise after hormones is not as muscle bulking as before and is more toning. I was out and about today and nobody second glanced me even in a restaurant with bare ams and shoulders. So with all my exercising I seem to have achieved my first goal of passing which is at least to be able to walk about as my chosen gender most of the time. The biggest reality grounding I'm getting in my RLT is that I am rediscovering that life is about living as much as possible. I want to swim and cycle and skydive and climb just like any other girl that wants to do these things. :)

Best of luck being and becoming you, and don't loose yourself in the search :)

Hi Kate:

Would you like to start with core exercises from three to four times a week? For long term, this is the best "tummy tuck" to bring your core together and keep your core tight. Besides, you won't have a sixpack because these muscles are located deeper inside your body. Then, you may want to run on the threadmill for at least half an hour then please add bike or elliptical for 15 - 20 minutes, three times a week. Of course, you may need to start humble and taper the time up longer week by week. If you would like a "boob lift" exercise, please ask your gym trainer about which machine he/she recommends for that. Please, don't forget to switch up your exercises for better results and to avoid boredom. And of course, yes, indeed pilates and yoga may be your excellent choices as well. Weight loss is about 20 - 30 % of exercise and 70-80% of diet. It is possible to go on to a high protein-low carb diet that helps you losing weight quickly, but if you don't change your eating habit permanently, you will gain all weight back. That happened to me too. I endured the stringent herbalife diet for more than a month and lost 21 lbs. A few months later I was back where I started. Then I did Ideal Protein Diet for two months, with losing again 20 lbs, but I gained it all back again. These diets are pretty dangerous for long-term use and should only be temporary, because they affect hormonal balance (thyroid, insulin, etc) and metabolic rates and I am pretty sure they affect the nervous system as well. Because I have a poor food self-control, I just try avoiding pasta, rice, bread from my diet as much as possible...Instead of sugar, you may try fructalose sweeteners (Stevia, etc) in your coffee or tea. I beleve that Aspartame base sweeteners that you find in Equal, etc sweeteners and in diet coke, etc drinks are very harmful.

Hugs:

Lily Vicky

There is a ton of transgender exercises on Utube. Search bombshell body workout. Gina has some good ones, as do others.

I found my first ones on Renee Reyes web page. I used the weight over the head method for building my nice rack. Three worn out Freightliner steering axle kingpins, cleaned and taped together with purple duct tape, makes a perfect weight for me.

I love waiting in line and seeing myself in the security camera monitors. My girls are not huge, but prominent and I have a nice phat girl shape. Thanks Renee!!! Booby hug. JodyAnn

I am an evangelical  I am also transgender.  This is an issue. I have read up on it.  I am not an expert, but I have done a lot of reading.   One thing I do not get about people who take that position is that evangelicals are all about salvation by faith alone by Christ alone by grace alone - unless you are transgender.  Then you cannot be saved, these say, unless you do the work of un-transgendering yourself.  Which is, practically, impossible.  I have read the "solutions" and I don't buy them, obviously, because they do not work.    In evangelicalism salvation is by faith alone, Christ alone, grace alone, without any merit of our own.  That means, to an evangelical, we come to Christ as we are,  in the words of a glorious hymn,   1 Just as I am, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me, and that thou bidd'st me come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   2 Just as I am, and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot, to thee, whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   3 Just as I am, though tossed about with many a conflict, many a doubt, fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   4 Just as I am, thou wilt receive, wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; because thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.   We do not clean ourselves up BEFORE we come to Christ.  We let Him clean us up AFTER we come to Him.    Those who insist that transgender people cannot be saved are actually preaching another Gospel, a Gospel of works, and have wandered away from the glorious Gospel into works.  That is strong but true.   Struggling with legalism and grace, I have found more of God's mercy and grace available to me because I struggle with being transgender and seeking His resolution of it.  Which, not having the struggle, I would not have needed to seek Him earnestly on this.

Eventually, (especially if you start T,) things will even out. The excitement you feel is from everything being so new. Finally knowing yourself and having others recognise you can be thrilling. However, because it is your natural state of being, eventually that wears off. There's nothing exciting about it anymore because it's "just you." (Which is a perfect thing to be!) This, however, can lead to disappointment. Trust me when I say however, that that disappointment and jarring reaction to wrong pronouns will go away, and you'll once again feel comfortable in yourself.

I love long hair. I'm wanting my hair to touch the floor. I guess we shall see how long it can get.

I wear a wig most of the time.  But I can get by with my natural (shoulder length) hair if I wear a hat or something to cover the mostly empty top. Unfortunately that train has left the station, sigh.

Oddly enough, just this weekend I read some of my poetry at a local event.  In this case it was a Pride group so I didn't have a particular advantage.  But I have read in more inclusive (of cis people) situations, and been fairly well received.  Let's face it, cis people do deserve an equal chance.   I suppose this might be a problem in the future.

Of course we do.  The few friends I do have are almost exclusively cis or trans women. I think I could have a relationship with a man, but he would be kinda "other" to me.  Could be interesting though. I never have understood guys - even when I was trying to be one.
