Hey everyone, I'm new here and I dont really know where to start. Im 22 years old and over the past year discovered that I am a ftm. When I was younger I would have feelings towards girls, but always picture myself with them as a man. Going through puberty and not being able to hide the fact I was female, I figured I was just a lesbian. Even though I felt that "lesbian" didnt accurately describe me, I thought I didnt have any other option.

Ive recently discovered transgenderism and watching other ftm's vlogs on youtube, I realized "wow," thats definitley me. Im pre-t, pre-op and the only person who ive come out to is my best friend. I am scared, but I really feel like I want to start my transistion process, and this is my first step

I dont really know what else to say, but I'm really interested and looking forward to connecting with others similar to me and getting some advice

Welcome, You will find out you are not alone, there are many many more out there that are FtM.

i am going the other way, MtF, but we're in similar situations

and there are a lot of FtM guy hanging around too

You have taken the first step simply recongizing who you are, one of us. I am glad you found Laura's site, lots of useful info and a bunch of great people here. If you wish to chat too, its a seperate registration but you can use your same user name and password. The FTM chat is on Fridays at 8pm but can also be any night there is a gathering of guys.

Welcome home. I am just like you only a couple years older (26). Growing up I always saw myself with women, but always as a man. When I was little, we would play "house" and I would always fight to be the dad, or brother, even go as far as just being an uncle! In high school always thought I was a lesbian because I loved women. I was very very sheltered growing up, my father is a biker, construction worker, Mormon from Oregon, and my mom is from a tiny town in VT. So they were never really opened to anything, never mind trying to explain that people are different.

So I went to college when i was 18, first time away from home. I was out and proud to be a lesbian, and at first that put the male thoughts on hold for a couple months, but always came back. So I went to a GLBT conference with my gay group, and happened to be in the "wrong" place at the right time. This ended up being a FTM workshop, and has changed my life all together. And here I am.

If you need a buddy, dude, I'm here for ya.
