Step 3 and its relevance. (It empowers rather than strips you of your identity)

I am working today so any postings will be brief.

I have found that my highers powers will for me tends to be what I have longed for all the time.

I have not turned into some spineless wimp because I go there for guidance and in most cases it require me to drum up some courage in order to go the distance.

When our addictions take over our lives, they become our identities and the power above all other things that could be part of us. My highest power wants my true identity known to others since my life is ONE image of my HP, and there are countless other images in each person at peace with themselves and sure of their selves, but all images together are that of the Highest power in Creation. Peace be to all.

When i first saw the 3rd step i thought to myself what a difficult goal. I thought i might not get past that step as enlightenment seemed the goal and i wasn't able to simply sit under a tree. I've gotten past that but have realized that what happens is not my doing. I am doing the will of a HP whether i think so or not. The world is so much more than i can comprehend and i simply hope to play my role in the play as it unfurles and flows. I have had the illusion of control. The best thing in my life have come from letting go of any attempt. If i can turn over my illusion of will i find peace and the strength to take the next step. I simply hope to continue to grow towards a realization of the third step as it is given.

It took me some time to understand what it is and more time to know that it is not of the smoke and mirrors, flakey spirituality that some are looking for or think that that type is what is being put them.

A spiritual awakening is just that, something that has been inside you all the way along.

Choosing to listen to it, in action, is where the trust comes in but with time and trial and error a faith or trust in the process starts to form.

On a personal note; connecting or communicating to my higher power in action and mindfulness helps connect me to something greater than both my higher power and myself.

That's when the God shots happen.

An important quote that can be used whether on the fence or not.

The TG journey is so intensely personal and oriented to the needs of the "self" that I am eternally grateful for having plugged into a higher power to create at least a little balance in my life. There was a lifetime of fear to be overcome. Fear of scorn, ridicule, exposure, loss of relationships, etc. Only with a God in my life was I able to summon the courage to begin the journey. A power greater than myself was needed to provide direction and protection. Trusting God with the outcomes and the navigation got me through the necessary losses and opened me to the new possibilities.
