A new development that may save my transistion

As i posted last time, my divorce went sideways at the final hearing and the The judge showed himself to be a bigot and went after me overstepping his bounds and ordering me to pay 10000 dollars of NON marital assets to my ex in the guise of "for my child's benefits" but yet it was to go into an account in my ex wife's name. He also wanted this money paid at once in a lump sum even though i am on disability and a fixed income. Her said that if I did not pay he would put me in jail and seize my property for auction. Well that was at the hearing. He had decided to postpone that decision and assigned a court appointed attorney to represent my sons interest and would implement what she suggested. and this is where the judge and my ex-wife got a rude awakening.

My lawyer spoke with the court appointed attorney and after my attorney spoke with her and expressed my concern for my son's best interest with this decision the court appoint attorney informed us that yes the judge did overstep his bounds but that a new trial would have to start over or she would recommend that a 529 trust account be set up in my sons name that neither me or my ex would have access to and that i would deposit funds into that account monthly that he would be able to access when he was 18. This is good news because i am already doing this for both my kids and this will change nothing for me and my wife does not get to live off of money that are "in my son's benefit" because she does not want to work. The judge still gets reported "quietly" to the Texas bar and attorney general and my only concern, that my son is taken care of and my wife does not get to spend money that I set aside for him, is taken care of.

This saves my transition because I will not be ruined having to come up with that much money at once which could only happen if i sold everything i owned. And even though the judge thinks he will be getting his way i am getting all I wanted from the beginning.

I am so happy for you! I am still trying to get my divorce from my second wife and she's stated she wants me to end up homeless. At least we have no children. Its not a fun situation but I am soo happy that things are going better for you.

I am glad that you will be able to help your child in a way that doesn't make you a pauper or send you to jail. With luck your wife will be able to find a job as well and your worries will lessen even more.

Reading your initial posts about this situation really made be both very sad for you and angry too. I'm so happy for you that things seem to have worked out much better than you first thought. Hang in there and keep your head up moving forward on your journey. Best of luck!

      The age thing applies to both of them, and I say this as someone in my own mid 70's. As for being "businessmen," I don't consider the government to be a business.  That might be part of our problem now.  But this might not be the place to open that can of worms. I would like to be able to keep my personal freedom to live as myself, and the social security that I worked most of my life for.

      Although the right to care has been affirmed, I still find it disheartening that so many of the treatments that are available and beneficial to someone who is trans, is consequently barred by insurance companies who claim that anything beyond HRT and vaginoplasty, are cosmetic. I believe that any procedure that can help to make one passable as their desired gender, has the potential to be lifesaving. Is being able to just blend in as our desired gender so abhorrent to the insurance companies?    I also believe that the transgender communities are taken advantage of in many ways. Look at the number of healthcare providers who will provide care, but want up front payment, which in many cases, is way above what an insurance company will pay. It is very expensive paying out of pocket, yet many of us become so desperate to transition that we just pony up the money.

      The only thing good about Trump, he's a businessman, but as for leadership to be the president of the entire   United States.. ahh nope lol, there's no telling how many secrets he blabbed to foreign countries when he was in office, anyway he's too old to be in office.

      Oh, my! It seems as if I have been gone for so long. And, interacting with you all has been such an important part of gaining an understanding of who I am this past year.    My wife’s mother passed away this week. She was in her late 90s but has been in relative good health. Until the past month. We brought in hospice last week when she began to sleep most of the day and began to become restless and uncomfortable. She passed in her sleep on Monday.   As you might imagine, it’s been a whirlwind of coordinating burial arrangements with family, the unreal home, the church and the venue for a lunch after mass.   We have a place here on our property where we place the ashes of family members so we will place her alongside her husband next Saturday.   Of course, our new puppy adds to the strain of time. She is a joy but also a typical Lab with lots of energy. She’s 11 weeks old and already 21 pounds.    I will I’ll find my way back here more as things settle down.   I miss you all!
