Sharing Transgender Experience With Congregation

This coming Sunday I will be sharing my testimony as a transgender person to the congregation. I was asked to do this a few weeks ago and I gladly accepted. I'm preparing what I'm going to say and it will be for about 2-3 minutes.

That's great, Gennee, and I would love to hear about it. Very timely for me personally, as I'm trying to work out how to share beginning my transition- we celebrate everyone's birthday at the end of service, and I happen to start HRT on my birthday, in August.

I am relatively new to this church, and they know me as male except for a few who know I am trans. It's a little unsettling for me to contemplate changing openly, slowly, alongside groups of people. So, I'm grateful for you trailblazers and looking forward to hearing more....

The talk went very well. I shared my coming out story to the congregation. I came out to the congregation three years ago this month. Afterwards, many people shared their positives feelings about my speech. I really enjoyed doing it. I pray that someone's life was touched.

Vicky, somehow I kept it around 3 minutes. Amazing!
