Name and Gender documents filed finally!

Hi all,

I am happy to announce that as the title suggests, Alex, and I finally filed our name and gender change documents into the Sacramento Superior Courthouse. Yes we both decided it was best to file our documents at the same time, and we saved some gas money by car-pooling. We were both given the same court date: September 25th, and we can check on the preliminary decision the day before it is official (they have a website). Most likely we will not need to appear in court, the judge should be able to make a decision based on the documentation. I am glad that the procedures followed here in California for name, and gender change are handled in a very routine manner, the folks working in the courthouse were very professional, and filed everything swiftly. So now I need some patience for the two months, and ten days before the judge renders everything official (hopefully without any snafus occurring). Thanks for reading.

Even though I had to appear before the judge, she was very understanding

Hello, super news on name change.

I live in CA and had to appear along with others at hearing. I was seeking a name and gender correction. This was back in January of this year.

Did the rules change?
