So I'm chatting with my wife from work, and I mention that I'm going to be getting new undies, tighter to show off my behind better.

She approves, and sends me a link to andrewchristian.com, a popular homosexual underwear shop.

It's exactly the opposite of anything I want to see, and she seems to know it. "I wish i could see your face right now", she says.

She goes on to say "It's like Victoria's Secret equivalent for guys, if you can get past the soft core porn".

I say "Ack".

She says "That's what I feel like at VS".

Sensing an opportunity, I say "I would rather shop at VS than that place".

She says "You want to shop at VS? I guess if you're into that".

I say, "not exactly, but if I had to pick one, it wouldn't be Andrews. They both seem like overpriced places to shop. I would rather go to amazon for one stop shopping".

she says, "ok, Caitlyn"

And after that I changed the subject.

So in my interpretation is that that is at the ver least a tacit admission that shes probably going to be ok with stuff she doesnt have to see...

but the Caitlyn comment bothers me...

I think the fog is forcing me to take these kinds of risks.

Hi Diane,

I watched my wife very carefully during the media storm surrounding Jenner. She was interested but not in the circus freakshow kind of way, and her comment was "everyone deserves to be happy." I took that as acceptance of TG/TS but knew also that it's easy to be accepting until it happens to you. She has always been open minded, but having gay / lesbian friends (which she does) was still not enough once it became personal. So yeah, I'd say continue to tread carefully. Her responses seem like she'd be okay with it, but it really is very hard to tell what someone's reaction will be when things get real.

Good luck, though. I know the secrecy is hard. As hard and as devastating as it was for me to come out, the secrecy was worse.

Hugs,

Courtney

Maybe you should ask her " what if I am into that"?

Could always say you were asking hypothetically if she goes too negative. Could lead to a good conversation.

I'd still recommend in person rather than by email.

In my experience there was a line. You are getting close to crossing it. If you plan to disclose your desires to your wife then perhaps that is an opening but i seriously doubt it is an open door. It is your decision how to proceed and what panties to wear but don't feel it will not affect your relationship. She may or may not accept your desires but it will also put doubt in her mind.

There came a point in my life that "the fog" as you described it became an imperative. Tread gently and with kindness and understanding of her perceptions and fears if you continue.

Hugs,

Charlize

Well! It was an interesting night to say the least.

After that conversation yesterday, I kind of expected something to happen that evening, i just wasn't sure what direction it would go.

We settled down for sexytime again and she immediately asked me about my legs again, and i knew this time I was not going to just concede. I had to tell her how i really feel. Honestly, the conversation was kind of a blur...

I remember her saying things like:

"But not even my gay friends shave their legs"

"so?"

"But Caitlyn's wife said she was shaving long before, and even after he didn't need to so for the sports"

"Irrelevant, I am not Jenner. I'm not even in the same situation. I don't want to be a woman, I just like how it feels"

"But I just can't compete with that. my hair grows back almost instantly, and you naturally have almost none, and here you are removing what little you have"

"I'm sorry I was made that way, but I am in no way trying to compete with you. I just like the way it feels"

"But I feel like I'm in bed with a woman, and I'm not a lesbian"

"I'm sorry I've put you in this position, and caused the feelings you're having. I just really dislike the hair on my legs, probably as much as you do. I'm sorry if I'm not what you hoped for"

She mentioned something about masculinity/being a guy, but she realized that that was a bad line of reasoning when I started to say that I was sorry I wasn't fitting into her version of masculine. She caught herself being upset over something she normally is not, but obviously things are different when it's personal as CiCi mentioned above.

When she was done, I made a point to validate all of her feelings and mentioned she absolutely has the right to feel that way. Then I started about my feelings:

"I'm afraid you will love me less because of this... that you find me repulsive."

And this is where the conversation seems to lighten, with her saying that she absolutely doesn't find me repulsive, and she still loves me even those there's this one thing she doesn't like. She mentioned that I probably don't like 100% of everything about here either, and that that's ok.

And then I proceeded to reward her with multiple Os. It might not be a turn on for her, but it doesn't seem to be a turn off either.

I believe I have won a battle of sorts, and one that even some out-of-the-closet folks have lost before.

Of course, this has all been completely outside the scope of the "Dressing" topics. I feel I'm going to have to let her get used to this new situation before doing anything else. I'm going to purchased some androgynous undies, put the few panties I have away for awhile... I just can't lie to her. I figure that sometime in the next 6-12 months the topic will come up again, and it will be more clothing related. Hell, I suspect she will even bring it up. I keep buying ridiculous length "socks", and she's not stupid.

She's been trying to get me to go to her favorite gay club for awhile, and I think there's opportunity in that. Maybe the rest of this will be downhill?

Anyhow, I feel freaking amazing and I thank all of you for your kind words and suggestions. I've been on that roller coaster for a bit and I really appreciate being able to post my thoughts somewhere. I don't feel alone anymore.

I'll keep you posted.

You are very brave Diane. This whole Jenner thing has caused a lot of husband/ wife discussions., no doubt. They have all been one -sided in my household, with my wife roundly condemning Caitlyn, and not hesitating to opine on the moral decline, " how can this be", "I just don't get it " , etc. needless to say, I have taken the role of seemingly disinterested listener. I was hoping in my heart to hear some half way accepting comments and some empathy and understanding. Unfortunately transgenderism seems still too non mainstream for so many people. I wish you well and will say a prayer for you!

Having taken on the site, forums, and all of the bills, from Dev (May 2020) and because I also want to be fully transparent about the cost of running the site, I feel it's time to update this information. Sorry that it has taken me two years since I last gave an update, just life getting in the way.   If you'd like to donate, please do so via the green bar at the top of the forum pages.  The months of July through October are pretty heavy with annual and semi-annual expenses and every little bit helps.   Here's the breakdown as it stands now:   Chat is now free. (Stu now runs the Chat)   Regular Charges: There are occasional one off's as well. Forums:  $70.00 every six months (February and August, effectively billed in January and July). (Was $45 until 2022, support ticket system depreciated!) Resource Locator:  $53.00 yearly, this "widget" failed this year, so I have been able to find a (currently) free replacement. Resource Locator Mapping: Google maps, currently under the minimum monthly usage, so free. Email Delivery: $5.00 monthly currently free, changed to a service that offers a much larger monthly allowance. Server Rental:  $30.00 monthly. Greatfully sponsored by The Breast Form Store. Security Software:  Now included in the package we have. Domain Renewals: Approx $75 annual charges for Transgenderpulse.com, Lauras-playground.com and the server domain. Contact Us Form Software: $79 yearly (August).   Total Monthly Breakdown: $54.50 per month.  (Annual bills = $654) Updated May 2024 (Slightly down on previous years).   Now then.  I'm on a fixed income, which means I know what it's like not having a penny to spare.  If you're not in a position to donate, please don't feel guilty; I didn't take over here to turn a profit.  The lights will stay on.  Donations are very much appreciated, but they are not a requirement of membership.   An update to clarify a couple of points: Because you have to use your legal name with PayPal, emails confirming your donation from PayPal will be from a name with the initials "DS", not Petra Jane and the email used is tgp (at) uk-web***   Unfortunately, we can only accept payment through PayPal, and please ensure that you have permission to make any donation through a PayPal account, we have been stung by someone alledgedly using a PayPal account without the owner's permission and incurred an additional $20 chargeback to refund the donation!   We have recently seen a number of these of late so I am asking that genuine donators please add your forum username in the comment box so that I, and I alone, will know who has sent the donation and that it is genuine. Thank you. Also, this appears only to Members who are logged in on the forums, New Members need to have made a minimum of 10 posts.   Let me reassure you: Donations help towards ongoing costs related to keeping the site running, including hosting, bandwidth, etc. It also encourages us to commit regular updates, add features, and improve the service. Our promise to you is that this site and its use will always remain free of charge.     Petra Jane

This is the dress I'll be wearing this evening while we watch the Kentucky Derby. Not sure if I'll throw on heels or flats with it - probably flats but I haven't worn heels in a while and the Force is strong.

Good morning, everyone!! I'm already on my 3rd cup of coffee and it's just 5AM. I can't imagine why no one else is here posting already!!??    It's supposed to be a cool day here with rain in the afternoon so no lounging outside for me. Our pool was opened yesterday so I'll make sure we have what we need to get it cleaned up and ready. The water temp is only about 60 right now so after I get the algae knocked down and the salt level right to begin making chlorine, I'll turn on the heater to warm it up. Probably a week before we'll be swimming.   Today is Kentucky Derby day so we'll put on dresses, hats and have a Mint Julep while we watch on TV.    Enjoy this beautiful day we've been given!!

I feel like it took a while to land in the 'middle zone', but it did happen. But obviously all those decades of testosterone poisoining take their toll, the middle zone is still preferable to the old life.

Everything that @MaybeRob said above is spot on with me too. The changes are much more subtle the older you start. I started HRT at 56 and of the feminine physical changes I experienced from HRT, 80% of all my changes happened by my 3 year mark. The other 20% of the changes are continuing still.   The feminine results I still see change happening in include: reduced and thinning arm, leg, and body hair, body fat redistribution to my hips and butt. There may be still some minor facial fat redistribution but at this point it’s getting harder to tell. The facial fat redistribution started after year 1. Also, I’m still on Progesterone which was added into my HRT regimen after year 1. I believe that is responsible for increasing the size and darkening the color of my nipples to a much more feminine look. I was happy about those changes because my BA procedure alone did nothing to improve that aspect of my breasts. I will be getting off Progesterone at the end of this year now that it has done its job. I will be 6 years on HRT this September. I’m guessing I may have a year or two left before all the expected changes will have occurred.   Hope that helps a little, Susan R🌷

Trans Group Zoom Meeting Tomorrow!!   It’s almost time for another Zoom Meet-up and I’m sure it’ll be another entertaining time to get together with others from our community. As usual, these meeting can last up to 4 hours or longer. Come when you can and leave whenever you want. The start times are listed below.   If you need a Zoom Link, Message me as soon as possible as I will be gone early all day tomorrow (Sat.). I will PM you a link here before I leave for the day tomorrow. See you all next week.   Have Fun! Susan R🌷   From Zoom Host AllieJ: We had 15 at our last zoom of April, with great discussions as usual. When there are this many people attending, we have to be a little stricter with keeping our talking time short and watching for hands up so everybody can contribute. Best is to use the electronic ‘Raise Hand’ so it is more visible.    Trans Group Zoom Meeting Times: May 4, 2024 6:00 PM Pacific Time May 4, 2024 8:00 PM Central Time May 5, 2024 11:00 AM Australia/Melbourne

Wow, Birdie, I hope you get better soon.  At least the nurses figured out that you're not their standard patient.  Hopefully they treat you right.     I wish my husband would replace our stoves.  Of course we use propane, being way out of town, but they're old.  They are supposed to use a battery igniter, but one hasn't worked in years.  There's actually a hole sawed in the bottom plate of the oven where I stick a match.  And the other one had some sort of valve problem, and couldn't get the parts.  I was hoping for a new stove, but I got to watch in awe and dismay as my husband made a "something" with a piece cut from a roll of bulk automotive gasket material.  It works, no leaks.  But I swear we don't replace anything here until it is absolutely dead.  With my luck, that will be another 20 years on those stoves.      I don't complain much, but I wish I had some nicer kitchen things.  Nobody understands that if I'm serving dinner for 36 people, cooking on sheetmetal plates or using stuff from a 1980s junkyard is a bit....suboptimal.  When I mention it, I get lengthy apocalyptic tales of the deprived life in Argentina or Mexico or "In Soviet Union, stove cooks you..."  Thanks, GF.  Or maybe I'm just too spoiled?

I do the best I can to 'Pass' and I think I have become better at feminizing my appearance ... But, I have also come to realize that no matter how much I feel I pass, it's more up to the individual I interact with than with my efforts and appearance. If they are self-aware humans they will see me as I truly am ... and then I will receive a compliment, or a 'Ma'am', or just a friendly smile.  That's all I really need.
