Relocating to Trans friendly area.

This is a little more specific that just asking for anyplace to relocate to that is trans friendly.

I am looking at Taos, New Mexico specifically since it is close enough to Houston Texas to visit my children and grandchildren.

If I were independently wealthy I'd probably relocate to Washington state, Oregon, or Northern California. But since I can't afford to fly often enough from those places in order to visit my children I need a place close enough to be able to drive to and from, and a place that is okay with the Supreme Courts decision on same sex marriage. So that's not Texas, not Oklahoma, not Louisiana. So to be close that leaves New Mexico.

Taos is very artsy, and very live and let live from what I hear, however I was hoping for some feedback from the community to see if anyone can add to what I've heard, or for that matter have any suggestions of a place in light of the above affordability.

After living full time ( was able to because many of you know my mother-in-law does not know I am transgender, and she lives with my wife and me) as LesleyAnn for just a week my wife admitted that she could not take me ever being LesleyAnne full time, and she knows that, that day will come. So we discussed an amicable solution, and that was for me to move elsewhere.

If I need to move it will be out of Texas, since Texas is so homophobic, anti- everything that isn't far right, religiously fanatic as they are.....they fight any, and all things that promote or support LGBTQ rights, and they fight it inspire of the federal courts.

You even have to go on the QT in Texas if you want to change your gender on your drivers license since they won't recognize it if your birth certificate is the opposite. I'm so tired of fighting their homophobic system. So good-bye Texas.

Hopefully, you will be able to find affordable housing in Taos, New Mexico.
