Injection Site - T Shots

So guys....where do you all inject your T shots? My gyne told me to do it into my stomach but given my layer of pudge i wonder how the needle will get to the muscle. What are your general practices?

Stomach?! Are you sure? It's an intramuscular injection and I don't know if any stomach muscles (well, there are abs but...).

Usually I do thigh, alternating between the two.

OMG! Not the stomach. You've got all kinds of blood vessels and junk there. NOT GOOD! I have heard of diabetics injecting into the stomach, but I've never heard of it being done with T.

Your doctor may be dumb.

I inject in my upper thigh, in my quadriceps muscle. It's the big one on the front of your thigh. Google it. I think that or glutenous maximus, aka "your bum", are the preferred injection sites for most transguys.

Your abdominal muscles that you'd probably be injecting into, your rectus abdominus and your external obliques, are relatively small thin muscles when you compare them to your anterolateral thigh muscles or your deltoids. It's an IM injection. I'm not a doctor, but my recollection from when I went to the endocrinologist was that you're supposed to inject into your thigh or your bum. This PDF (www.immunize.org/catg.d/p2020.pdf), from immunize.org, which is a reference site for health professionals, says that IM injections should be done in your anterolateral thigh muscle or alternatively in your deltoid. Injecting into the stomach, from an anatomical perspective, doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but, again, I'm not a doctor.

I think you should talk to another doctor.

I alternate between my thigh mucles and My bum. You should talk to your doctor more about this, as I've never heared of anyone injecting in there stomach.

Are you sure your doctor told you to do this? Remember self-medicating can lead to many problems, heart attacks, blood clots...death. Please take the safe rout and go to a gender therapist then to the correct doctors.

I must say I have never heard of injecting in the stomach. I also do the thigh. I would talk to your Dr. again as that sounds a bit odd.

If your endo doesn't have a lot of experiance with transguys then this is an understandabl mistake -- stomach is generally the preffered injections spot for insulin since there's lots of fat. I don't do it there because I have an irrantional fear of stabbing one of my organs. XD;;

You shouldn't do it into your stomach. Use your theigh...or your butt if you feel like getting a friend to stab there for you. =P
