I also agree with NCTE on both notes.

For the training issue, as a retired civil service manager I can attest to the fact that training high level managers is a very very . . . very long way from having adequate training and sensitivity at the lowest "delivery point" employee level. The first line TSA personnel are Technician Level employees who do not have professional discretion to vary from item by item instructions in a book that is their holy bible of literality. A little problem to giving them that discretion is going to be a 30% pay increase for them. Trust me.

At this time it sounds like more of the same lip service . Perhaps they are working on it but at their snails pace. You can't get huge organizations to move quickly, they lumber along. While we continue to wait. Plain and simple I would rather drive than fly.
