Will I Be Able To Pass?

Hi..

My name is Sakis, I am 27 years old and for many years now I have been dealing with gender dysphoria.. since a couple of years ago I also suffered from serious depression and that was the main reason why I got very fat, reaching a weight of 115 kilos ( 253 lbs. )-- all this while my height is 1,80 m ( 5 ft. 11 inch. )

Then almost one and a half year ago I decided to make a new beginning; I started thinking very seriously about going through transition; the first step was to lose weight, lots of weight; in approximately one and a half year I lost 43 kilos ( 94 lbs. ) and so now I weigh 72 kilos ( 159 lbs. ).

One of my main worries, ( besides the various financial, family and employment issues ) when I was fatter was that I would never be able to "pass"; specifically I was afraid that my bone frame was too big for a girl and that because of this I would never be able to acquire a "female" body, no matter how much body fat and muscle mass I would lose and how many hormones I would take.

Now after losing all this weight, I still think sometimes about all this; for example my arms, my elbows, my shoulders still seem much bigger than those of an average female and so this makes me wonder whether it is possible for me to achieve a genuine, "persuasive" female appearance.

So here are some of my questions..

is there any way by which someone could know approximately which aestetic results she could reasonably expect from transition before starting it?

Should I expect that hormones will significantly reduce the size of my shoulders, of my arms and of the other big, masculine aspects of my body with which I feel dissatisfied? I am really eager to hear about other people's experiences with hormones and androgen blockers since I am seriously thinking to start taking them soon.

Since one thing that worries me is my thought that I have a quite big bone frame, can I somehow learn whether I indeed have a big bone frame or not? A couple of months ago when I went to my diet consultant I had my body fat measured; my body fat was 20,8% while my weight then was 76,75 kilos ( 169,2 lbs. ) and my height was, as usual, 1,80 m ( 5 ft. 11 inch. ).

I give you this information about me in case it can help you have a more clear idea about the problems and the anxieties that I am facing.

Hormones generally do not affect your bone structure, but they do help in redistributing fat. This may help you to appear more like an average female.

Always remember that there are also large boned women - look at some of the female athletes - they are still feminine but many have larger shoulders and that is not a problem.

Look at the malls and see how different women look from each other - everyone isn't a fashion model or a movie star, aim for being a woman not a poster.

Attitude is 90% of passing anyway.

Love ya,

Sally

Hi Mak,

You can get you arms to look smaller by not doing any exercises that would build them up. Aerobic exercises (like lite jogging, no marathon running) and diet will help you slim way down, including your arms. If you keep a healthy feminine outlook and sef-image, you will definitely become more feminine outwardly. Just keep thinking thin and feminine, it will all OK, you will get there!!

Oh, and be patient!! None of this happens overnight. It takes time, and perseverance!!

LOL

The magic of HRT will blow you away as you sloowly morph into your real self.

Be patient, this is a long road, not for the faint of heart,or the weak of will.

By year one in transition, you will start taking on real female attributes,by eighteen

months, you will have the body of a woman, with nice steadily filling out breasts, even

your face starts looking female.

Be Patient,It's Worth It.

Welcome to your womanhood.

Even though I am just beginning my journey, I can't wait for when I start taking HRT and for some effects to start showing, a friend of mine after 12 months has had AMAZING results(you could not even guess she was this other person before) so I am being very optimistic for when this day will come to me, all I can do now is just educate myself before hand and just make sure I am heading in the direction that I need to be heading.~Hugs!~

I have been on HRT for four months and one week. Amazing what the the hormones and T-blockers can do - of course - everyone has different results. Here I am at four months - age 61 - not too bad.

Average.............Normal................a bunch of hogwash.......like Sally said think of the Williams sisters who you are familiar with from Wimbledon are they ever worried about looking feminine or are they interested in winning tennis championships...and this latest phenom who is sweeping the U.K. and the U.S. this lady who looks "funny" and can sing like an angel...isn't she a woman...so STOP worrying and start living like the woman you want to be.......RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!! Your friend in Colorado..USA Mia

Sweety,

Two years ago,If I had been told how much and easily I would pass...

How truly womanly I would become,I wouldn't have believed them. Not in a million years.

You young women change very dramatically, very quickly.Ladies of middle age(myself),

change at a slower pace, but we do change, radically.Passing is an attitude you project.

I am a woman-know it-live it-be it.And that is what the public preceives,a woman,period.

Truth,

Angie

Angie - perfect answer!

OH - HRT has added some fat - my boney ankles and knees disappeared - my legs look very female now. The muscles holding the shoulder skeleton sagged - helping reduce that look of being broad shoulders. Even my feet and hands, oversized perhaps, are very feminine looking and soft. I am 6'2" and pass now when I want. It's do-able - with ATTITUDE! Angie knows!

Hope this helps

I know a lot of it is attitude, once I start getting on HRT my confidence will only get better once I do see some of the changes take effect. I know it is not going to happen over night and will take quite some time before I see the results that I am wanting to see, but no one said that being a Woman would be an fast or easy journey~lol~ :P

I asked AI to create an image of myself 30 years younger based off my avatar on another site and this was the result:     Wow! I am amazed how close it got my 30 year old face!

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.

This wouldn't even be a problem if they would just leave us alone.  It is a no-brainer.

OMG.  I'm glad it wasn't worse, and you were able to get on it quickly.  Lots of blood can be scary.

Like I said, I'm no tankie, but I do see a world of difference between Joseph Stalin and Bernie Sanders.   If the point is not wanting 'government control' the Right is pretty good at that themselves - as they've been demonstrating lately. This stuff gets complicated.

So, I am curious. Is the Governor going to mandate vaginal or penile recognition photos before one enters the restroom? Considering the Governor has no balls to do the right thing, will he have to pee against a tree outside? Inquiring minds would like to know. I love it when the job recruiters contact me about the wonderful jobs available in Oklahoma. It is so much fun telling them there is no way I will ever go to Oklahoma. When there are no workers, then they can shutter the place.

Ngl, probably Sonic the Hedgehog, the Beatles, or the Monkees. Those are the three subjects I know the most about so I could drop hours of info on them.

Thank you! I'm out of coffee so I have been drinking hot tea instead. Looking forward to the 1st. It's crazy that we are almost in May. This year has flown by really quick! Good to hear that y'all got to sleep in. Hope you have a good weekend too!

It's nice to care about others but you need to live your life as you please. No one be your only source of happiness. Love yourself and don't look back. I lost over 40 family members it hurts but apparently, they didn't truly love me. True love will always be there through the thick and thin. I can honestly say that HRT has made me think in ways that I never thought I would. I get myself some shoes or clothes every month because retail therapy not only helps but it is a reward to myself to show love. I have over 100 dresses. I have a whole walk-in-closet full of clothes and 67 pairs of shoes. I love who I am. I was born in 84 so not all people in the 80's think that way. As far as the name just take your time and be happy with it. I knew I loved the name Ashley. Take care and welcome!

WOW @Ashley0616 it’s good that you have skills to treat traumatic injuries, as well as the ability to remain calm while managing others needs to get yourself and the boys ready to go to the hospital. Proud mama bear skills. I’m glad that he’s doing well.    Meanwhile back at the ranch, we slept in and I’m just now finishing my 3rd cup of coffee.    Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well yesterday was not fun. I was getting ready to make dinner and I hear screaming and crying. I look over and my son put his foot through glass. He gashed near his Achilles tendon. Thankfully that is intact. I didn't freeze for a second. All of my military training came into play. I doctored him up and got Jett ready and myself and we headed to the ER. He is doing ok today. He says he is in pain but doesn't need Tylenol. He is a tough cookie!

Hi,   It's seems today is my trans birthday.  I'm beyond excited. Just picked up my testogel from the pharmacy. Although I naturally have doubts as I'm sure do we all, they are rapidly disappearing. Yesterday I was so nervous I kept claiming I'm not trans, despite grinning like a fool knowing I can pick up my prescription the next day. I'm shaking and on the verge of happy tears. I will put on my first sachet this eve. Thanks so much to this forum and kind words from people. This is the first forum I found when I began seriously questioning.
