Girls are scary, I was wondering how many girls tried to act Macho at some point? To hide being a girl? And what you did? O.o You girls were undercover trying to infect all the boys with cooties weren't you! Admit it! I know your dirty little secrets! >.> <.<

The webpage database StumbleUpon classifies the Wikipedia page on Cooties under sexuality. True story. The page itself is actually quite fascinating in its transcendence of the boundary between fiction and reality.

Lydia has never been, nor ever intended to be described as 'macho'.

Never been able to be, never known what it meant to be, and never was, macho.

So no. I was treated as an outcast from the onset, since being 5 years old and going to school the first year.

My parents were the ones that were always trying to ge me to be more macho,

signing me up for football, baseball, and other sports of the nature.

Now that I have come out to the world, and in the line of work that I am doing.

Running flatbed, Throwing Chains, Straps, and Tarps, Having to Tie it all down I think I have the

Girly Macho now more then anything. :D And Yes I try to infect all of the boys with cooties when I can. :P

Everyone knows it's the boys that have cooties.

..and if you look on a bottle of T in the list of ingredients towards the bottom you should see "cooties" printed. :P

I don't think I ever really wanted to be Macho, but I did want (and still do want in a way) to be a little more muscular and attractive to other girls my age. But I want to be a girl at the same time, so I don't know how that works :( Kinda in cycles...

Hey Lewis,

This is really funny and serious at the same time!! Well I grew up in a family where "men were men and women were women" and there was no in between (just incredibly neanderthal)! Anyway, during those painful years of my puberty and teenagedom, I had no choice but to become realtively "macho" (I wasn't actually believable to my peers, but it was good enough for my parents). I remember when I was about eleven, and my mother one day pulled me aside after coming in from playing outside and said to me sternly "boys don't walk that way" looking me right in the eye. What she meant was that she was watching me and did not approve of how I moved and carried myself.

Cooties... I have got plenty, I am sending some to you now!!

No one ever told me outright I walked like a girl, til I was like 22. But I'm sure I got beaten up for it before. My parents knew but made no big deal about it either.

Macho never appealed to me, not even in others. For me it was hopeless - might just as well have pretended to be a fish - would have been just as effective! It was that way from earliest childhood and the closest I ever got was being assumed to be a Gay guy but even that wouldn't stick for long. The most common question was "What ARE you, a guy or a girl?" Back then I didn't know.

Strange ..... 35 years since making the change and nobody has ever asked that question again.

Hey, Mr Awesome!

I was wondering ....

What is the address to your fan club.......I mean, If someone wanted to join....lol...

I'm not considered "Macho" at all.....I turned in my "Macho" license.....and was issued a "Cute" permit!

And I would of posted to you sooner, but my Cootie gauge was reading "Low" and I had to run out and get a fill up!

Now I have a full compliment of cooties and that makes me a thoroughly dangerous girl!

Stand back, Please.....Make way.......

I have more posts than you, too....you're not letting the girls get ahead, are you?

Awwww...boys are slackers, anyway!

QUALITY Girls and Guys - no competition here - please! I know it's fun to have a lot of postings, but do keep the goal of the Forum in mind, to provide information, love and support - so NO SPAM postings to get the numbers up!

And Cooties? Definately something boys have - and later when they become men, they just have BODY ODOR.... and mysterious places that constantly need scratching.

And I was born in Texas where we learned MACHO early. My dad taught me, it is an insult to your manhood if someone passes your car on the right side on the interstate - RAM THEM! Road Rage is justifiable in MACHO conditions. [happened to me in Louisiana]

Hummmm... but how many of us 'MTF 'guys' are there in super macho places? Marines, Air Borne Rangers, Navy SEALS, and that stuff... we try...

It never works, but we tried...

It kept us thinking we could be accepted, never worked, but we tried... and tried...

Sad and depressing - spending our lives that way.

I just have no idea what any of them are talking about, I just let my feminine side show:

As I helped the quarterback up after throwing him to the ground while playing defensive end - never spiking the ball in the defender's face after scoring a touchdown when playing tight end. :)

I always kept my pinky finger extended when dunking a basketball and I always apologized if it just happened to hit someone in the face after going through the basket - to be polite I never shot my sky hook from more than 18 feet away from the basket and I almost never fouled.

I never aimed an overhead slam directly at my opponent's stomach or face and I always let them call in or out, I never resorted to just overpowering serves and a lot more spin than anyone else used unless it was getting warm and I needed to finish them off so I could go inside. :P

I was very much the nice young lady, except in Racket ball - there wasn't enough room to be polite - just 'kill 'em and get out! Always Claustrophobic. ;)

Love ya,

Sally

Girls are scary, I was wondering how many girls tried to act Macho at some point? To hide being a girl?

The Yin and the Yang of who I was,and who I really am.

I was a very gender confused teen, had no idea growing up what a (real man)looked or acted like.

So on entry into the Army at nineteen,I searched for,and found,my idea of what a(real man)looks like. Those hugely muscular men that weight train.I took an effeminate 120lb teen, and turned(him)

into The Hulk.A very masculine appearing,macho acting,165lb,muscle bound(man).I,was massive.

With well defined muscle from head to toe.And I lifted until I was forty seven.I ripped the muscles

on both foremans while lifting too heavy a weight.I couldn't touch a weight, the pain was too great.

And that opened the door for the inner woman to insistently start calling my name.As I couldn't keep her quiet any longer,by burying myself in weight training.Eight years later,I am the real me.

Just as I have always seen her in my minds eye,a 130lb,small,fit,feminine woman. The Real Me.

This is all the truth.

i don't get exactly what you're asking to be honest...i mean like "macho girl"...the first thing i think of is butch lesbian. lol..

unless you mean like girls who are physically strong/muscular, which is different. i don't pay much attention but I've heard the girls' lacrosse team at our school are like more aggressive than the guys' team. i guess that is kinda scary for the opposing team lol. :D

Girls scare me more mentally than physically..it's so hard to figure out their reactions to things you say!

lol. I kinda gave up trying to be sociable within a group of girls because something bad usually happens on my end :/

LMAO the MTFs are girls. But they were born into being a Male and were I'm getting at is the girls that used to try acting macho... DO-YOU-UN-DER-STAND? lol

Nope I was never macho. I've been effeminate since the day I was born and was often mistaken for a girl up until I was 16. I was often pegged as gay after that. After 25 years of denial I finally realize I should have been born female. I made the switch and I've never been happier. I was headstrong sometimes, but never macho!

lol, but isn't that kinda like a lot of us may have pretended to like girly stuff?

i would think a lot of mtf's may have just "pretended" to act macho? like to fake who they are? like us pretending to like dresses and teaparties and flying around like little fairies and stuff? (okay that was a bit exaggerated)

but yeah idk im not finding that scary...lol...

like i said there are a lot of girls who can probably take down a lot of guys in a fight. :P

Two of the FTM's I know, were never girly, never pretended to be girly.

In their past lives both were butch lesbians.Until the painful realisation that they were in fact,

men stuck in the wrong body.Only one,John, tried to do the(normal)woman thing.Get married,

have kids,be a woman. That lasted until he admitted he loves women, and felt like a guy, always.

Most of us ladies, after being on HRT for an extended period, could not beat ourselves out of a

wet paper bag.Once the muscles atrophy and wither away,we are as weak as kittens.Even a gallon

of milk takes an effort to carry.LOL but true.Beatup someone?I think not.Maybe in our dreams.

Yeah, a lot of times I don't really have anything to add to the conversation. There are some threads I seldom post on.

I have seen some things about this.  As I remember it was not very trans-friendly. The people doing these things seem to minimize the positive aspects of transition, and maximize the potential problems. Basically, make it as difficult as possible (without outright banning it) to discourage anyone from doing it.

Good morning    woke up to some light rain this morning.  Maybe I should run out with a giant umbrella to cover the car.   Ha ha ha.     I’ve had really nice cars before but never something like this.     @KymmieL I hope you got to go on your ride. Back when I had my Harley we went out for a ride almost every weekend. We would head either SW down the Shenandoah Valley or Skyline Drive which danced along the tops of the Mountains or we would head west into West Virginia and just travel along until it was time to find our way home.   occasionally I wish I still had a bike but I usually quickly for get that. The only thing I ever wanted as a young person that I never had was a late 50s vette.

I admit to wearing make-up. Actually, I'll admit to enjoying wearing make-up. For me, it's been part of learning about myself as a woman and finding a style and look that reflects my personality.    Sometimes, it will just be a bit of mascara and a touch of lipstick. But, most often I wear foundation with setting powder, gel eyeliner, mascara, a little blush on my cheek line and lipstick. I also use an eyebrow pencil to darken my brows a bit.  Infrequently, I will add some eye shadow.   Most of my make-up is from Mary Kay although my lipsticks or from various manufacturers and eyeliners are mostly Maybelline. My wife purchases most of her make-up from Mary Kay and so we order together from our local representative. Of course, I don't have much brand experience but I'm happy with the Mary Kay products and find myself transitioning almost entirely to their line of make-up.

I did early on, out of necessity.  Regardless of how close you shave, beard shadow shows through.  I just used a bit of foundation, setting powder and blush.    I didn't use much eye makeup.  I started out with a bit of eye liner, but I thought it gave me a "trying too hard" look.  So I mostly didn't use any.   With covid and masking, I stopped using makeup altogether.  Why bother when no one can see your face and the mask smears the makeup anyway?   When restrictions were lifted, I didn't go back to wearing makeup.  My face feminized quite nicely over the first few years of HRT.  I'll never be pretty, but I look more female than male.  (Or I like to tell myself that anyway.)  With several years of electrolysis, and with what facial hair remains turning white, I don't have much beard shadow, so there is nothing to cover up.

Pride is primarily about yourself, even when it is not you who did something that you are proud about. You can also be proud of something someone else did, who you associate with, such as your children or your favorite football team. People can feel proud of their culture, their family name, or their appearance, none of which require them to actively contribute to the praiseworthy thing1. However, the opinions of others are of crucial importance, as best demonstrated when you purposefully do something that other people praise. Pride is a social emotion, and to feel proud, you need other people’s (real or imagined) confirmation that you have a reason to feel that way. Because of this, other people can also ‘be in your head’ and prevent you from feeling pride. Namely, what is praiseworthy is subjective. Things that may be considered good in a certain (cultural) group may not be praiseworthy in another (e.g., if you grew up in a family that greatly values academics, your athletic abilities may not evoke much praise). Moreover, what is praiseworthy is relative (e.g., if you are a good runner in an athletically average school, you may regularly feel proud about your times; but if you move to a school with highly competent athletes, these same times may seem unremarkable to you). Thus, the more exclusive your quality is in your surroundings, the prouder you feel. Pride has recognizable features. Although its static facial expression (typically a smile or laugh) does not clearly distinguish it from other positive emotions, it typically results in a bodily posture, gestures, and behavior that are clearly recognizable: lifting your chin, looking people in the eye, walking confidently, or in extreme cases, raising arms above your head. In a way, you try to make yourself larger and more noticeable, as if to say: ‘look at me!’ You may also exhibit more perseverance in your activities2. People generally find it very pleasant to experience pride, as it elevates our feeling of social self-worth and status3. At the same time, many social groups, religions, and cultures (especially those that are highly collectivistic, such as the East Asian or African culture) believe that pride needs to be checked. Unchecked pride leads to arrogance and misplaced feelings of superiority (‘letting something get to your head’, ‘hubris comes before the fall’), and social groups typically do not tolerate members feeling like they are superior or deserve special treatment.

Thank you @missyjo! You do wonders for my ego.   It turns out that pastel colors were the "thing" at Kentucky Derby Day so my dress was perfect. I went with white 5" heeled sandals and a wide-brimmed fuscia hat. Dinner and Mint Juleps added to the fun of watching the (recorded) festivities and races.   Perhaps, we'll repeat it for the Preakness in 2 weeks.   Right now it's just blue striped sleep shorts with pink flowers, a pink t-shirt and flip flops. I can't tell you how much wearing  sleep-rated breast forms at night has done to quell my dysphoria.
    • April Marie
I can still rock 5" heels.
    • April Marie
Good morning, everyone!!   My wife and I had our yearly Kentucky Derby Day evening. Dresses, heels, hats, Mint Juleps and a light dinner while watching the festivities and races. Relaxing and fun. I think we'll do the same for the Preakness in two weeks.   It's rainy and cool here today so it's pretty much going to keep me indoors. Ahh, well. A day of rest.   Enjoy and be safe!!
