Hi all!

I'm joining LP because the overwhelming majority of posts that I've browsed show such a helpful and supportive community - seems like a good place to start!

This will be my first time talking outside my own head about this, so whether or not it's appropriate I'd like to begin with a confession; I am so sorry.

I'm sorry for the uneducated, ignorant comments I said (such as "THAT'S a guy?") as a teenager and young adult, whilst fearful of the label of trans regardless of whether I was in subconscious denial or just didn't know. I know they would have upset people :(

The constant clues throughout my life didn't seem to register with me (even the "I wish I was a girl" thoughts!) and only a few months ago did realisation hit me like a brick in the form of a single YouTube video.

The lack of physical dysphoria (I'm lucky to not hate my body even if I don't particularly like it) didn't speed up the realisation process either. Any dysphoria I've experienced seems to be due to social interaction/perception because I've internally viewed my body as just human instead of male (even though physical appearance dictates most social perceptions).

Which sounds so weird now it's written down...

It has been hard finding information about people with similar feelings, though given some people's accounts of dysphoria I should probably be thankful!

I'm still trying to find my identity after finally seeing through the one I constructed for other people. For that reason I'm currently identifying as MT? with female pronouns, but who knows where this road of discovery will lead? :)

Hiya Cassie ^_^

Welcome aboard!

Good place to figure out who you are, and I can promise you we're just as interested in getting to know you. But, like, the real you. Never forget that who you are is way more than your gender identity. I think some people forget that and it makes them miserable (I was one of those people, it was everything for a while and it nearly took me).

So, you like to cook? Draw? Solve quadratic equations while wrestling alligators? Dish!

Hi Cassie,

Welcome to the playground! It literally took me decades to finally accept myself, it does take more time for some of us, and yet now I am living as myself full time (finally). :) Lots of nice folks here who are very supportive, enjoy. :)

hugs,

Stephanie

Hi Cassie, and welcome! I agree there are some helpful and supportive people here. It's become my go to online resource for all things trans.

It was just about a year ago when I dropped the pretense, and decided to be me- and I'm still not sure where my identity will settle out at. Somewhere on the femme side. So take your time, and enjoy the playground.

Hope to see you around

Hello Cassie and welcome. Concerning "trying to find my identity after finally seeing through the one I constructed for other people", take the time to determine who you are (therapy might help) and then own it. You'll feel much better. About lack of physical dysphoria, not everyone has that issue, so don't be worried about it. Please join in on the conversations. We'd love to hear from you.

Nice to meet you all! It's nice to know so many people don't see putting a label on whatever identity I have as the be-all-and-end-all!

I can solve quadratic equations, so I guess riding an alligator is the next logical step!
My hobbies have included: calligraphy, making chainmaille, spool knitting, cycling, marksmanship, web development (somehow managed to turn that one into a career) - that makes me look like such an interesting person, but it's just to show how fast my interests constantly shift over time! I'm not very good at staying in one place for too long :P

For several years I've worked at festivals (music, water-sports, charity, you name it) with a company my best friend created. It's so much fun seeing the same people at festivals over and over again seeing a large, dysfunctional (but lovable) family evolve over time... Which has totally ruined going to festivals as a regular paying customer for me!

That's a little about me, I'll see you around the forums!

Ooooh! I dabbled a bit in Chainmaille jewellery. Nothing too fancy but I did some nice bracelets and necklaces :) I always meant to get into it a bit more and start using gold and silver wire to make the rings, but I just got so busy with stonesetting that it kinda dropped off my radar.

Hi Cassie,

Welcome and thanks for posting - it's great to see another UK person here.

Nobody is here to judge and there is a fab bunch here - eager to offer advice and support. You can ask what you like and there will invariably be someone along to offer their experienced based views. It's a good site.

My kitty has a litter box, which she uses on occasion.  But she prefers to make me get up to led her out. I could install a "cat door" but I'm afraid it would be used more by the possums and raccoons.  I have had possums in the house more than once - even without one.

Good morning everyone,   It was our first night with our European Boxer and it went well. We got up at 05:30 let him out of the cage and went directly outside to give him a chance to go potty. It has been raining for two days and nights so the grass is soaked and nearly up to his belly. I don’t think he’s ever been outside while it’s raining or wet. I had my rain jacket on and a big brimmed hat as well as rain boots, he just stayed at my feet no matter where we went in the yard. I took him to the previous locations where out daughter’s dog had gone poo, but he just sat at my feet. Once inside and drying him off with a towel. He took a poo right there. So I gathered up his mess, and took him and his poo outside. So right now it’s dog one, trainer zero. Now that the coffee is brewed and I have a cup, he’s chewing on a toy.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Strange that I awoke from a dream dreaming about "being able to pee standing up!"   I know that sounds strange from someone AMAB, but intersex issues have always prevented that.    I wonder what made me dream like that? That was a first! 🤔

Morning y'all.    Nearly winter here, but it's a mild climate compared to what most of you experience. Even so, the best way to describe the mornings lately is...nipply! 😁

What I don’t like about the dealer working on my car, yes the put the paper mats on the floor, but why don’t they remove them when they bring my car to me?  And why do they always mess with my radio settings and my electronic dashboard settings?  I get them the way I want them and they seem to want them at factory default.  Leave things like you find them!  Why is that so difficult?  And don’t tell me it’s because the updated the computer! Every time!.  And no I haven’t figured out everything yet on the new car.  I can’t even get my key programmed to move my seat when I get in and out.  It’s supposed to move the seat, the mirrors, the steering wheel and several other things.  My old Eddie Bauer was easy to program but then it only programmed seat location and pedal location.   ok now that we’ve had our rousing knock on cars and dealer mechanics.  What else shall we talk about?  Bras?  Seems like an appropriate subject for most of us.  I have several different types. Two are famous store push-up padded to are more common everyday lightly padded ant one is a no padding no strap slip and the last one is a front close longline no padding.  Now that one supports the theory that I am now a B cup on my own. I’d prefer a C but then I’m not so sure my blouses would still fit without pulling.  Ah the problem we have as women.  And sizes are never ever the same.  Oh I’m a size ??  But men I need a large shirt and 36-30 pants and they always fit.   we can’t buy anything off the rack with confidence it will fit and I hate having to take it home to try one and return what doesn’t fit.   we’ll time to do my hair and leave.   love ya   Willow
