That Smell............

Hiya I have been on hrt for a bit now and I have noticed my body odour has changed even after exercising have any of you experienced this? I don't mind it as I've been told it's not nearly as offensive as before and yes I wash LOL

Yes, it happened to me and to most trans women i know. Kind of a nice benefit, wouldn't you say?

My nose has been there before!! It is indeed a benefit. To go a bit further though, I also noticed that men smelled differently to me about that time in things. I noticed that I was not male to male "on guard" as I described it to a therapist. So the nose knows quite a bunch of new things.

I am certainly less offensive than i was and i still do some heavy work on the farm. The goat smell is certainly stronger than mine and that was not always the case.

As to what to do about combating the odor I'm sure in France perfume is wonderfully available. I used to shower and use more deodorant than i use(rarely) now.

I exercise all the time, after about 6 months of HRT, the dude smell was gone, like poof, magic !

I also notice guys smell way different to me, I can smell them everywhere, quite a contrast. Especially "old man smell", OMG some old guys just wreak

This subject has come up before and as then, I am confused.

I have had a really big reduction in smell too (to the extent of not really noticing any) but I am not having hormones. The only real changes I have made is to shave almost completely (so have no underarm hair) and wash my whole body with plain water once a day and also once a day with t tree and witch hazel foam wash. I moisturise all over after each wash.

I suppose that may allow for my body odour. I don't think I have noticed any real change of other male odour.

I never use deodorant these days, whereas I used to use it daily

Well, I'll add to the observations Julia. I had to come off the HRT 4 weeks before my surgery and couldn't start again until 2 weeks afterwards. Having got used to the sweeter female smell rather than the acidic male smell which the HRT had changed for me - I found the period without HRT and return of some Testosterone quite unpleasant. When I was in recovery during this time, the old smell returned and I honestly thought that I stank.

I was soooo relieved to get back to normal when I could restart my HRT.

I have some revision surgery in 3 weeks time and so I'm already off the HRT again (bah). I'm interested to see what happens this time as I no longer have any Testosterone so I don't know whether the odours will return. So far, I'm not aware of any change as yet.

When you undergo hrt whether its m2f or f2m the change in your hormones effects even the smell of your sweat hormones are a truly wonderful and amazing thing since they also can affect something so minor but so big.

That probably explains when I haven't showered in a few days, and I personally feel gross and scuzzy, that's when guys seem to flirt with me more. It's those darn pheromones.
